The Dark Knight & Benjamin Button has 0 chance in the Oscars, the most prestigious awards ceremony. Should the chances really be 0? Toouptight for no reason

top 3 movies this year, no order: TDK,Benjamin Button, and slumdog by far

Slumdog Millionaire
Gran Torino
Changeling
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Seven Pounds

one of these will win

saw it last nigh and ...WOW

is it really that good? i just got the phone with my homie who said the exact same thing. i may check it out tomorrow night.

I'd say its a must see.

Milk was a really good movie. Sean Penn did a GREAT job.

Slumdog was very good as well, I wouldn't be surprised to see that win.

TDK was the most anticipated/exciting movie of the year but I'm not sure if it'll make the cut.

Wall-E was terrific, I think it should get serious consideration.

Seven Pounds was good, not sure if its quite deserving.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona should NOT be there, although I enjoyed it. Not Oscar caliber... I bet its because Spielburg directed it.

Doubt shouldn't be there either, although Streep deserves an award for her performance.

I haven't seen the others yet so I can't speak on them however I'm really disgusted that a Ben Kingsley film didn't make it there (Elegy, TheWackness or Transiberriean)

felt the same way, the bad acting made it annoyingly hard to watch

The 5 that I think will be nominated...

Revolutionary Road
The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Milk
Doubt
Frost/Nixon

Either Sean Penn or Mickey Rourke will win Best Actor

Kate Winslet will win Best Actress

Heath Ledger will win Best Supporting Actor

Viola Davis or Taraji P Henson will win Best Supporting Actress

David Fincher or Gus Van Sant will win Best Director

my thoughts exactly. I'm leaning more towards Sean Penn winning; he has the more controversial role, and the Oscars love that kind of stuff.

- Slumdog Millionaire (*)

- Wall-E
- Doubt
- Gran Torino
- Man on Wire
- The Reader (*)
- Changeling
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (*)
- Mamma Mia
- Rachel Getting Married
- Vicky Cristina Barcelona
- The Dark Knight
- The Wrestler
- Milk
- Seven Pounds
- Frost/Nixon (*)
- Iron Man

The 5 nominees will be announced on Jan 22nd, and the Oscars will be on Feb 22nd. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences mailed 5,810 official Oscar nominations ballots to voting members last week.

I'm leaning towards Slumdog Millionaire...although I think Wall-E is a serious underdog/darkhorse...what do you guys think?

Out of the "candidates" I've only seen Benjamin Button. The Dark Knight blows it out of the water. Not taking away from Benjamin Button. It was agood film. But The Dark Knight is probably the best movie ever made in my opinion. I've seen it 3 times and each time I'm left blown away andspeechless.
