Yeah they may taste success with Pac-Man but that's name alone, much like Fedor was. Arum and every other promoter knows where their bread is butered

We know that man.
Montiel-Donaire is on HBO next month (which is an Arum card), they just signed Gamboa-Solis this week and that will be a bob Arum on HBO.

I'll put money that CBS ends up going with the fightcamp-24/7 type series.
I believe only the hardcore fans were really mad about the Mosley-Pacquiao matchup.

I think Pac's casual fans will still buy a Pac PPV.

Manny Pacquiao is going to Showtime. On January 20[sup]th[/sup], Top Rank (Pacquiao’s promoter), Showtime, and CBS put the finishing touches on a three-way contract that calls for the May 7[sup]th[/sup] fight between boxing’s reigning pound-for-pound king and Shane Mosley to be televised on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Showtime and CBS (a terrestrial network) are owned by the media conglomerate CBS Corporation.

Pacquiao’s last eight fights have been televised by HBO-PPV.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has long been intrigued by the idea of synergy between a pay-per-view provider and a terrestrial network. He‘d explored the idea in the past with Showtime and CBS but nothing came to fruition.

The idea was revisited in December 2009, when Arum, Les Moonves (CEO and president of CBS Corporation), and attorney Allen Grubman were vacationing with their wives in Mexico. It percolated while Pacquiao fought Joshua Clottey (March 13[sup]th[/sup]) and Antonio Margarito (November 13[sup]th[/sup]) on HBO-PPV. Then Moonves made an oral presentation to Arum outlining what CBS and Showtime were prepared to offer.

Among the things that Moonves ultimately promised were 1) advertising spots and live cutaways during the NCAA men’s basketball championship tournament and other CBS Sports programming in April and the first week of May, 2) a four-part countdown series, with either the first or last episode airing on CBS in prime time on a Saturday night, 3) appearances for pay-per-view undercard fighters (such as Christy Martin) on CBS talk shows 4) a May 1[sup]st[/sup]  60 Minutessegment following up on the Pacquiao feature that aired last March, and 5) hosting the CBS Morning Show in Las Vegas on Monday through Friday of fight week.

Also, when HBO produces a 24/7 series to engender pay-per-view buys, the promoter bears the cost of production. That’s true here too. But Top Rank will be given commercial time on CBS during the shows that it can sell to partially underwrite its costs.

In sum, the move to Showtime isn’t simply about choosing one pay-per-view platform over another. It’s about getting the broadest possible exposure for Pacquiao, Pacquiao-Mosley, and boxing. Manny is Top Rank’s vehicle for breaking down some of the barriers that have separated boxing from large segments of the American public for the past 30 years.

Showtime and CBS offered Top Rank more than HBO did. Not more up-front dollars. The currency here is awareness and exposure, 115,000,000 homes in the United States to promote the fight. That contrasts favorably with the 30,000,000 households that subscribe to HBO.

However, sources say that Arum’s disenchantment with the leadership at HBO Sports also played into the decision-making process. Arum was angered by what he felt was a tilt by HBO in favor of Golden Boy and Al Haymon. In recent years, HBO has turned down opponents for Kelly Pavlik and Miguel Cotto (two elite Top Rank fighters), who were just as good as the opponents that the network accepted for boxers who were promoted by Golden Boy and managed by Haymon. The maneuvering by HBO that hastened the transit of Floyd Mayweather Jr. from Top Rank to Golden Boy infuriated him. And he was saddened by the fact that no one from HBO attended the memorial service in Seattle in honor of his son, John (who was killed in a mountaineering accident last August).

“No one – and I mean, no one – has had a longer relationship with HBO than Bob,

I'll put money that CBS ends up going with the fightcamp-24/7 type series.
I believe only the hardcore fans were really mad about the Mosley-Pacquiao matchup.

I think Pac's casual fans will still buy a Pac PPV.
They did a good job with the Super Six fight camp 360. I wouldn't mind them trying it out.

Manny going to SHO is gonna end up being a great thing for boxing. More mainstream exposure for this event and then HBO is gonna do the same in order to keep pace.

LAS VEGAS -- An evidence hearing for Floyd Mayweather Jr. was reset Monday to March 10 after the marquee boxer made a brief court appearance in a felony domestic violence case.

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa agreed to the postponement after Mayweather's lawyer, Karen Winckler, sought time to allow her law partner, Richard Wright, to also take part. Prosecutor Lisa Luzaich didn't oppose the delay.

Mayweather, 33, said nothing in court. Outside, flanked by his manager, Leonard Ellerbe, his fiancee, Shantel Jackson, and an adviser, Sam Watson, he declined in to say anything about the case. He said he would rather talk about feeding the homeless or "something positive."

The undefeated boxer, who goes by the nickname "Money" and earned more than $20 million in one fight last May, is accused of hitting and threatening his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, stealing her cell phone and threatening two of their children during an argument at the woman's home last September.

His lawyers have denied wrongdoing on his behalf.

He could face up to 34 years in state prison if he is convicted of all charges, including felony grand larceny, coercion and robbery. He also faces one misdemeanor domestic battery and three misdemeanor harassment charges.

The charges stem from a pre-dawn Sept. 9 altercation that Harris said was about her relationship with another man and Mayweather's demand that she and the children move out of their Las Vegas house, which he owns.

Mayweather is accused of threatening to beat the couple's 10-year-old and 9-year-old sons if they called 911 or left the apartment during the scuffle.

The couple had three children during what Harris characterized for authorities as a 15-year relationship. She said she lived with Mayweather for seven years before separating last May.

Since his arrest in that case, Mayweather also spent a night in the county jail on a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an allegation that he poked a homeowner association security guard in the face during an argument about parking outside Mayweather's home.

That case is pending.

The Southern Highlands Estates homeowner association filed for a court injunction against Mayweather last month, complaining to a judge that he failed to follow rules and threatened employees. It seeks $10,000 in damages.

From the time Tomasz Adamek vacated the cruiserweight championship to move up to heavyweight in late 2009 the goal has always been the same for him and his promoters, Main Events and Ziggy Rozalski. They wanted to allow Adamek time to adjust to the new weight class, get a shot at the heavyweight title and make a good deal for that fight.

Mission accomplished.

Adamek, who lives in Jersey City, N.J., but is from Poland -- where he is one of the nation's most famous athletes -- will get a heavyweight title opportunity in his home country against either champion Wladimir Klitschko or his title-holding older brother Vitali Klitschko in September after they signed an agreement on Monday, both camps told ESPN.com.

"I am ecstatic. I can't even put it into words," Main Events CEO Kathy Duva said. "To work so hard with Tomasz with a goal in mind -- moving him up to heavyweight, getting a heavyweight title fight. We got him there and we got a good deal."

Said Bernd Boente, who manages the Klitschko brothers, "We made some changes, their side and our side. We now agree on everything. We have a go from both sides for a fight in September."

The fight will take place at a new soccer stadium being built in either Warsaw or Wroclaw, Poland. Duva said there are four new stadiums being built in Poland for the 2012 European Soccer Championships and that two of the stadiums are bidding for the fight.

"There is this window of opportunity for this fight because of the stadiums being built in Poland," Duva said. "It will be a huge event in Poland."

Duva also said the fight would be the first-ever pay-per-view bout in Poland.

There is still some devil in the details. Adamek (43-1, 28 KOs) must win an interim bout being planned for April 16 (or possibly April 9) in Katowice, Poland. The opponent is not set yet, but it won't be anyone too formidable, not with a multi-million dollar deal to face a Klitschko looming.Adamek, who is 5-0 since his move to heavyweight, definitely won't be fighting former titleholder Samuel Peter in the tuneup.

"That's a pretty good bet," Duva said with a laugh.

The IBF had ordered a box-off between Peter and Adamek as part of its four-man tournament to produce a mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko. Now that Adamek has a title shot, he does not need to fight an eliminator. Duva said the purse bid scheduled for Friday would be canceled. The Klitschko brothers also have interim bouts scheduled in Germany. Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KOs) will make a mandatory defense against Odlanier Solis on March 19 in Cologne. Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) will defend his belts against England's Dereck Chisora on April 30 in Mannheim.

If both Klitschkos were to lose, the deal with Adamek would be dead. If one loses, Adamek, a former light heavyweight titlist before winning the cruiserweight championship, would face the other brother under terms of the deal, Boente and Duva said.

If both Klitschkos win, the choice of Adamek's opponent would be decided by the Klitschko side.

"Either one, their option," Duva said. "We don't care which one it is. They have to tell us something like 90 days before the fight which one it will be. Tomasz's attitude is, 'I want a heavyweight title fight. I don't care which one of them I fight.'"

"Knock on wood, both brothers win their respective fights and then we will make a decision," Boente said.

However, if they both win it is likely to be Wladimir against Adamek, both sides said.

If titleholder David Haye of England comes back to the bargaining table with Wladimir, the setup could change.

Wladimir and Haye had been involved in heavy negotiations for a fight and made a deal contingent on finding a date agreeable to the German and British television networks they fight on, as well as a stadium in Germany. The earliest they could find that worked for all three was July 2. Klitschko said he was going to face Chisora first on April 30 in an interim bout, but Haye refused to allow him to. When Klitschko would not call off the fight with Chisora, Haye walked away from a probable eight-figure payday.

Simultaneous to the Klitschko-Haye deal imploding, Duva approached the Klitschko camp with the proposal for one of the brothers to fight Adamek in Poland and they quickly got the deal done.

"It took us less than three weeks to get this done," Duva said. "Everybody had the same objective -- to make the biggest, best event we can and everybody make the most money we can. We're very excited. This has been the plan for the 2½ years we've worked with Tomasz. This has been the goal and game plan. I'm happy it all came together and we are happy with the deal."

Although Haye and the Klitschkos have gone back and forth about various deals for the past couple of years, Duva said she had no problems reaching an agreement.

"I didn't have any of the problems other people talk about," she said. "I've had a long relationship with [Klitschko adviser] Shelly Finkel for something like 30 years and that probably helped. But when the time came to talk to Bernd, we were in synch right away. I know how to get a deal done. I didn't have any problem with them at all. And I had a fighter who said, 'This is what I want, please go out and get it.'"

Boente and Duva said they will visit the two stadiums and listen to their offers and will also talk with American networks HBO and Showtime. Boente said he preferred for the fight to be on Showtime after the brothers had a falling out with HBO.
