I didn't say he can't improve or work on his game, but clowns expecting him to get some practice with Kareem and develop a skyhook need to give up that dream or asking him to get 25 andv15 he'll never be THAT guy for his career. He can improve and get better, but that leap to the next level offensively likely won't ever happen .. Because it should have come already.

theres like one person in here (and shaq) asking him to get those numbers 

 as i have said, the problem with him is and always will be the fact that he wants to be treated like a guy who gets 25-15. no one thinks he's going to be hitting skyhooks or busting out with dreamshakes from training with those guys, the problem is that he still struggles to do BASIC post moves. personally i think he is going to get better in the post over the next few years but he will never be good enough to outweigh the negatives that come with his personality/ego.

I just wanna say the previous era of big men was good but overrated. you had guys like shaq, hakeem, robinson but after them there was who? luc longley? just a huge dropoff. now you don't have any truly elite bigs but you have a dozen or so that are above average.

also in dwight's defense it looked like he had turned a corner his last year with orlando. still didn't really have moves but he had solid, basic footwork, could establish position and at least be counted on to make a baby hook. he hasn't looked the same since, he is one dimensional on offense and those type of players get exposed in the playoffs.

Yup. Dwight will never be anything more than an athletic pnr, oop finisher, offensive rebound finisher, or drop off pass finisher lol.

That's a damn shame tho because he could be great.

Hence why people reference his attitude and overall laziness. How do you spend a decade in the league and your offensive game hasn't made a noticeable improvement.

Kareem is right, dude just isn't that bright. I'm sure he'll retire ringless.

Do you lose your memory by 28 or something? He could still learn some post moves but hes not gonna get any better if he doesn't consistently use them on the court. Build muscle memory, confidence, soft touch and it will come naturally the more you do it. Lebron didn't have a consistent jump shot until a year ago. Howard could still develop post moves through out the span of his career... or not. I don't care.

Who are these dozen or so Centers that are "above average" now? All I can think of is Lopez, Dwight, Hibbert, Noah, and the Gasol brothers. Nobody else is close to above average.

I think there's a pretty good chance we've seen Dwight's peak in '10-'11 and that version of Dwight is never coming back. I think we might need to just accept that.

you're forgetting guys like horford, vucevic, valanciunas, pekovic, gortat, bosh plays the 5. guys that are always hurt like bynum, bogut, nene (is he a 5?). and some young guys that have shown flashes like plumlee and kanter. even deandre jordan is better than someone like jud beuchler, no?

the two V guys are more next generations bigmen than this gen, they have great potential but its still early. gortat, pek, bogut are a lot like the mid tier 90s centers, mostly there to clog the lane while having a few post moves to work with. out of those guys prime bynum is the closest thing we will get to a dominant two way big man like the 90s and 80s. vlade averaged 16-10 a year in the mid 90s, these non superstar bigmen of the 90s were better than you think

Bosh is forced to play the 5, but lets be real he gets murdered by real centers. The Pacers exposed that last year.

The only people on that list that's above average are Horford and Vucevic. Bynum is done and everybody else is average at best.

You guys SEVERELY underestimate how difficult it is to improve these skills when you have limited touch and you're in the NBA. Dwight isn't Kobe. He doesn't have the touch or coordination to add moves in one off season. You need to remember how many hours Dwight has worked on his game. Literally impossible to count. At some point, you plateau.

You guys expect too much.

The '90s had Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, Mutombo, Mourning, Webber, Smits, Oakley, Sekaly, Brad Daugherty. Not to mention young Duncan, young KG (who were better than Dwight is now after their first 2-3 years).

I think there's a pretty good chance we've seen Dwight's peak in '10-'11 and that version of Dwight is never coming back. I think we might need to just accept that.
