O
Was just talking to some of my friends who play college ball and we were just discussing how much of an influence that Calipari has on prospects.

His selling points are unrivaled amongst the NCAA college coaches. He can legit tell you that you don't even have to start on his teams to make the NBA. That's a huge selling point.

Off topic, where'd you play in hs?

The LA/OC prep hoops scene is a small world

It was even 20 years ago when I was playing. Always playing the same AAU/traveling teams and in the same tournaments. That's why I knew guys like Toby Bailey, the O'Bannon brothers, Baron Davis, etc. before they got to college.

Ha. I played in the Dorsey gym several times back in the day. It's the one with all the windows, right? Very memorable spot.

Yup, real small with a lot of windows. But that's the small gym now, just got a brand new one literally starting this season.

^^^Speaking of Jeremy Lin, in my opinion, he is, in fact, a good NBA player. Is he as good as the Linsanity hype? No. But I think he's a better than average player. He's very good at getting in the lane and creating shots for teammates. He might not be an all-star, but people who say he doesn't belong in the NBA are wrong.

Yeah he's played very well this season, probably not in the ideal position for his skills either.

This. It's unfortunate for him that he's playing with Harden, who although is the much better player basically plays the same way that Lin does. Whenever Lin is on the floor and Harden isn't, he actually looks much like is Linsanity self. This year though, due to his increased consistency with his jumper, has him co-existing with Harden and even thriving with him on the floor.

Lance Stephenson about to become the best NYC-bred talent in the NBA since Ron Artest...right?

I've got to have a brain-fart, b/c I can't think of anyone else who has really panned out since Ron.

Don't even mention Roy Hibbert. He doesn't count.
