every kid who is scheduled to be on scholly fills out Fasfa forms to begin with.
Student Loans are the most prevalent way for Grey shirt candidates to go thru Fall semester.

Most kids dont make it up to school before January but No one wants to be sitting at home for 5 months doing nothing.

pretty much all these. like Mossi johnson for UCLA was going to come in with everyone else but tore his ACL a few weeks ago so will get surgery and rehab till january.

or Jeremy Castro last year who didnt have the test scores right away so didnt get them till dec so came in january as a Grey Shirt.

basically. imagine a top undergrad school telling you you had to defer for a semester or pay 1 semester of school fees but then you could go for free the rest of the way.

to some kids it looks more appealing than going the community college route or to a "lesser" school in the long run.

Some get sent to local JuCo's. Get/keep grades you get a scholly as an EE the following year.

Funny thing is, since it came back to Clemson, for such a ****** team, we have a more recent National Championship than UGA. Yeah, yeah...ACC is easy, we're in the SEC. Honestly if production was ranked on recruiting classes...UGA would've been won maybe 1 in the last 32 years.
