2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Negro I know Bennett's history :lol

And being that Richardson was Coley's main recruiter I'll put 2 + 2 together and say that he gave Golden/Bennett a heads up prior to NSD that he was possibly leaving. Him going to the Jags (or at least interviewing w/ them) been out there before the dead period

Being that they only landed 1 RB (I think) this year, Clemson gonna have that check book wiiiiiide open trying to keep Cook in the fold

Cook is already an early Clemson commit tho ain't he? Per the article you posted.
Not a big deal to most of you in here, but I found this interesting not only because its my team, but the extent that one would be willing to go to get out of a bad environment.

Akeem Jones does not have offer from Syracuse football, sources say
Akeem Jones, the quarterback who told The Post-Standard yesterday that he was going to sign a national letter of intent to play at Syracuse, does not have an offer from the Orange.

Jones never had an official scholarship offer, two sources said, even though he took an official visit to campus. He was never sent a letter of intent to sign, according to one of the sources.

This latest development was first reported by scout.com.

Seated in the cafeteria at Carol City High School on Thursday in Miami, Jones weaved what now appears be an elaborate series of mistruths in an interview with The Post-Standard. He said his mother was traveling to Florida in the next few days to sign his letter of intent after he had chosen SU over Louisiana-Lafayette. He said God guided him to choose Syracuse while he was sitting in his bedroom Tuesday night.

Jones' coach, Harold Barnwell, seemed to be a part of the confusion as well. He was quoted Wednesday as saying Jones could sign with Syracuse later this week, and he told The Post-Standard on Thursday that Jones was really excited about possibly playing for the Orange.

Jones was recruited by offensive coordinator George McDonald, and his visit to Syracuse included Corey Cooper and PJ Batten, among others.

But it appears there was never an official scholarship offered, just Jones' desire to be a part of a program he fell in love with. He told The Post-Standard that once he moved up to Syracuse in the summer he would never live in South Florida again.

Jones did not return a text message to his phone.

Exactly. :lol

That commitment means nothing. :lol

Reporter: How strong is your commitment to Clemson?

Cook: "The U"

:lol

That was a touch awkward. :lol But that's the mind of kids I suppose. Hope everything works out for him and more importantly, hope all our issues are cleared up for next year so we can grab more recruits and not limit ourselves while the NCAA bends over tryin to screw us.

Now that more is starting to come out it appears that recruit had a contingent offer, meaning that 1 of the 2 QBs had to back out, in order for him to get the scholarship.

Speaking of Miami, Reuben Fosters dad was arrested there this morning. Dude been on the run for 16 years for shooting Reubens mom in the back multiple times, Reuben was 18 months old and he caught a bullet too because she was holding him.

This story :lol

What happens in Tallahassee apparently doesn't stay in Tallahassee. The Arizona Cardinals' Darnell Dockett and sportscaster/coach Chris Rix, former Florida State University teammates who've followed separate paths since their days in burgundy and gold, exchanged a few heated words on Twitter this week about their shared history.

It started with Rix appearing on Jay Mohr's radio show Mohr Sports. In the interview (audio here), Rix opened the door to Dockett's history, and Mohr followed up. Here, via SB Nation, is a transcription of what happened next:

Rix: I was surprised AJ [McCarron] would come back. He's a humble, quiet guy. He's got the girl. He's got the ring. I wouldn't think he would need to do that. But I give him a little credit for standing up for himself. But there were all these jokes about Darnell and what his preference was in college, if I might, because there was a few incidents of him hanging out with some dudes in the union and stuff...

Mohr: Did guys make fun of Darnell Dockett's sexuality to his face?

Rest of Story in Link

Rix gonna get his *** kicked.

But I mean there are stories about Dock getting his dreads done by gay dudes @ school lol

And some other weird **** that just sounds crazy lol
