2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Yeah, that's tough too...

It's almost gotta be one of those two or Oklahoma, right? A lot depends on how the Okie schools settle in at quarterback.

I blame Steve Kerr for all this Johnny Football stuff - It all started when he was sitting courtside at the TNT Thursday night game and he made the comment how does a college student get courtside seats? Then after the timeout TNT made him (Kerr) recant that statement but it was too late the snowball was building.....

A preacher, a racist, and a murderer enter a bar.

The bartender yells Go Gators!

:lol :lol

I'm so sick of hearing about Manziel. I don't blame him for the media attention he gets but it is bordering on Favre/Tebow levels of annoyance. I know they do it because it gets ratings/hits/w/e, but just quit hanging on his every move like he's the president or something.

I think he should be able to sell his autograph for $ if he wants to, but he should be smarter than that given the current rule structure. It's not like he needed the money. This is a pretty clear example of how a stipend or small salary for college players probably wouldn't do much to stop players being involved with people paying them on the side; Manziel comes from oil money, drives a Mercedes and sits courtside at NBA games and he still got caught up in this. Kids are gonna capitalize on the opportunity to make extra cash more often than not regardless of a small stipend.

Didn't Tcu's starting tackle quit the team?

Yes, but the guy who was actually supposed to start last season, James Dunbar, is back so he should be able to fill the void.

And, Ive heard real good things about Aaron Green.

NCAA always trying to get players for the dumbest **** :{ ...but Manziel seems like one of them dudes that just dont know how or when to chill, and now that he famous and all that its even worse for him and the NCAA/Media watching and waiting

How much $ u wanna bet that if allegations are true, JFF is going to say he never saw a dime and the PA kept the money

Ncaa wont be able to do **** AGAIN

He done. Wanted to see my Dawgs make him cry in the Dome like Colt Brennan.

Gunna you prolly right tho, if they cant catch Auburn they not gonna touch Johnny. 2 game suspension

5* QB from Cali; Ricky Town commits to Bama

If he wants to use that defense, he'd better hope that no money was wired to his account instead of a personal check being handed over.

Cam Newton's family was literally paid for him to go play at Auburn.  But because the NCAA couldn't prove that money ever changed hands (and because they were willing to let the Auburn fans have their season knowing Cam would be one and done anyway) they let it go.

Terelle Pryor made 40 g's off autographs and they only suspended him for 5 games. 1 more game than AJ Green got for selling one jersey.

I can't help but feel like the fact that this is coming down the pipeline so quickly it's because they want to punish Johnny for overstepping his bounds as a stuent athlete and becoming bigger than the ncaa.  I seriously think they're going to try to suspend him even without definite proof of anything.  Just to flex.

Miss St payed the Newton's

yeah but at the same time they'd be voluntarily killing one of their cash cows

The NCAA is the biggest joke....those Ohio st players shouldn't have been suspended and Johnny shouldn't be either. Heaven forbid he make money off of his own damn name when an institution has been doing the same exact thing for yrs.

Good thing he's rich, I hope he sues them and gets added to that existing lawsuit. My boy has to his the fact that he has a damn part time job while being an athlete it makes NO sense. Not like Manziel was really doing classes dude is on campus once a week smh

He can go to the CFL still get drafted highly and I hope he gives the NCAA a big middle finger, they're crooks. How can I, as someone who had a full academic scholarship, be able to work in the summer or offseasons at internships and coops for pay yet these kids who break their bodies for a career in sports that on average lasts 3 yrs can't work or profit off their names?! Ridiculous. They are the worst.
