Like said, LA isn't a typical -rebuild- franchise.  It's always trying to build a team for contention!  

I don't know what the deal is w/ Pau Gasol leaving, but I'd hate to see him go.

No hot fire at all. They want to be entertained, that's fine.

I demand titles. That is, and has always been the goal. Clearly, 16 in 65 years is not a 100%, I get that, but that is the goal I personally strive for. Even if it means being dreadful for 2-3 years, if that creates a 5-6 year window to win 2-3-4 titles, I'm willing to do that.

Giving a 30 year old 97 million is old. Wade is 32, guess what, he's old. Melo is 2 seasons away from that. Playing 12 seasons in the NBA makes you old.
Pau was 30 when he died.

It's old. Not in real life, but in NBA life, yes. I do not wish to be paying Melo 24-25 million dollars when he is 34, in his 15th season. That is unwise.

You wanna be entertained, by all means enjoy Nick Young and Carmelo.

I want to win titles.

I get what you are saying...but your formula doesn't guarantee a title either. This franchise brings in stars to win chips. Yes we also have built up teams and used those players in trades (Shaq and Kobe first coming together) but think about the last run with Gasol. The team was ok, bring in Gasol, three trips to the finals. Not saying melo is the answer...but you don't know that he isn't.

If we get Melo (which I think is a long shot) you don't know what other moves might come later down the line to get this team back to title form.

It's easy for you to say let's be dreadful for two the three years because it's not your money, it's not your franchise. We are fans simple as that. Yes we wish certain things were different but they are what they are. End of the day these folks are running a business. If you don't like the way they are running it, you can take your business or fanship else where. I'm riding for whatever happens either way....
