2014 NBA Draft Thread

Your using ELITE man. I read what you posted and it still isn't implying he was elite. He's better than most simply because nobody plays freaking defense anymore. Games I watched he still got washed by opposing forwards. He puts up stats, but he didnt shutdown anyone.
A lot of the elite bigs got washed in plenty of games though, it's the nature of basketball. Your statement of "he didn't shutdown anyone" is very vague and unfounded. Unless you want to sit here and compare every elite big, game by game to see who exactly "shut someone down", seems like you're reaching.

Anywho getting back to the draft...

goes without mention that whatever bottom feeder drafts him is gonna hand him the keys to the city and put up as many shots as he wants ....he gonna get buckets .... but if kevin love , kyrie irving , james harden , carmelo anthony , stephen curry etc havent already proven all offense no defense aint gonna bring you no damn rings unless you got two other superstars on your team i dont know what will...to be honest i take someone like marcus smart over jabari parker

Dirk won a chip, he was seen as an all O no D guy. Pierce won a chip, when he got help. Hell magic Johnson won a 5 chips and they used to try to hide him on D lol.

All that aside, it's foolish to think that a teams championship chances rests on if that 1 player is a great defender or not.

I read that Milwaukee is pretty high on Exum. I wonder if they'd swap #2 for #4 and #12. Orlando gets Wiggins. Milwaukee gets Exum + BPA at 12.

I would love Smart in Orlando.

Him + Vic back court.
That defense, athleticism n aggressiveness :hat ....def gotta get a shooter on the wing or a stretch big man for them tho :lol

And I see a couple of ppl trying to make this thread silly...

Magic are in a tough position. You either draft Exum and a role/off the bench player at 12. Or you can reach on Randle at 4 and draft Ennis at 12 to complete a solid starting 5.

Ofcourse this can all backfire, but still.

Ennis
Vic
Tobias
Randle
Vuc

The Magic are in a great position. Reaching for draft picks in the lottery will set your franchise back and get you fired as a GM. No need to complete a "solid starting 5", draft the best available or who you think is the best available. They can add free agents to complete a starting 5 or fill in gaps. Do not reach with two lottery picks

If Exum is as good as people say, draft him or Randle or hell even Smart. There will be a ton of prospects left at 12.

Am I the only one not high on Randle at all?

I was to start the college season but as the season progressed I thought his ceiling went down considerably. His lack of refinement really turned me off. However when you look at the other bigs, Vonleh, Gordon, I'm probably taking Randle out of that bunch

I dont like a vic/ennis backcourt. I say magic draft exum and then best player available at 12

That right there is what alarms me with him. His lack of a refined offensive game. He's young, but he really has no "game" and is undersized at that. I just don't see how he won't struggle at the next level. Undersized 4's who can't shoot and really only have one method of scoring doesn't move me at all.

I have Randle higher than how TRob panned out. Randle, even without much refinement still has nice touch around the bucket and has better instincts than TRob. TRob in my eyes is... garbage. A completely forgettable player
