#1 options that would rather take matters into their own hands & isnt afraid to deal with the failures that may come with it = black hole

he has no one to pass to in the first place

no one called him a black hole in denver
i was thinking pass to who

ESPN did an article on ball hogs and black holes at the beginning of last season (like late November); the author defined being a blackhole as "Lowest rate of passes per shot attempt". Klay Thompson, Eric Gordon, Nick Young, Marcus Thornton and Rudy Gay were top five.

I wouldn't call Klay a black hole considering he isn't creating very many shots for himself

Sometimes I find it contradictory when people say the Knicks missed the playoffs because of injuries, but make the case that Melo has no one to pass the ball to?

Melo was healthy last season, so doesn't that mean they wouldn't have made the playoffs regardless, because he has no one to pass to?

MIND F***!!!!

The Harden hate during the USAB game was laughable i understand you guys don't want to see FTs but you guys are acting like he disrupted the game with his "iso" play yet he was attacking and being aggressive 7attempts but had 18pts and the 2nd best plus/minus.

The only season hes missed the playoffs

These last few pages make me wish Harden could somehow get traded to the Clippers to play with CP and Blake. Some people would literally lose their minds watching the team play.

Man the cavs really have no excuse at this point too not win it all. Team is stacked

Have you been feeling this way or did Marion put them over the top ?

Srs question

Already felt they were the going to win it all. Having marion and most likely ray as well coming off the bench is huge. Having a 2nd unit that good is huge

^^^ How can someone say Harden doesn't pass when he averaged more than 6 assists from the 2 guard position?

You really want to judge a player's passing by assist numbers. You're one of those guys?

Harden averaged more passes per game than any other SG in the NBA last season. The only SF's that averaged more passes were LeBron and Batum.

Edit. Nevermind, I see someone already brought up that point.

So you judge a player by how you feel about them, regardless of what statistics say? You're one of those guys?

exactly. his role for the rockets is to be the primary scorer, and out of that role he happens to create a lot of buckets for teammates. his drives lead to wide open 3s or finding the PF/C on a little dump off pass. pretty good pick and roll ball handler too.

my only criticism of him is when he kicks his leg out on 3s to draw contact. i feel like he sacrifices his 3 pt percentage to try and get 3 FTs when he won't always get that call

By definition, what is a black hole, in basketball terms?

nick young stands out in my mind. he's averaged at least 15 shots per game every year of his career and his highest assist per game total was 1.5 this past season. the reason i don't include klay thompson like pmatic said from that article, is because klay hardly isolates to get his own buckets. his shot attempts usually come from kick outs or coming off screens.

pretty much this. then you have lebron where he passes more, and people say he's scared of the big moment. can't win for the superstars.

I missed the game, rebroadcast?

nba tv 3pm central time.

Spurs have that veteran championship experienced roster, great support team players, Cavs look good on paper but they still unproven

I would like to see this revisited to end last season

Passes can be misleading due to the system each player is in, and who their teammates are

James Harden is an excellent passer, probably the best 2 guard pick and roll player in the league outside Manu Ginobili.

He doesn't ISO more than Kobe, Melo, Joe Johnson ect and people don't hate them as much.

The Rockets rarely run plays, so when the first pick and roll/post doesn't work, they throw it to harden to make a play, to make it out like he's this insane ball stopper ball hog just isn't true.

He's isn't a "black hole" not even close.

Cavs have a rookie head coach. A lot of you probably forgot what his name is.

I'll hold them off for the finals talk until I can see what this new coach is about.
