I should clarify, it wasnt a reference to the team being "too old" to do anything, but moreso that come 2017 I fear we may not see the same roster. I hope I'm wrong. I dont want to see this thing break up, I have zero issues with the Russy/KD dynamic, but whats gonna happen when Reggie starts demanding money? Will Russ leave? Will KD? These are all things that scare me.

This guy has it right.

At some point you have to realize that maybe these guys don't mesh well together? I've said this once and I'll say it again--OKC will always have offensive issues during big playoff games, as long as Westbrook and Durant are both on the team.

Too often you'll see them in a half-court set and either Westbrook or Durant will have the ball. Then next thing you know, you see a stupid perimeter shot go off with 3 seconds left on the clock.

OKC wins a TON of games in the regular season, but IDK how they can sustain this throughout the playoffs. Especially when they go up against better half-court teams.
okc was in the western conference finals last year (and 3 out of the last 4 years).. the one year they didn't make it, westbrook got hurt in the 2nd game of the 1st round of the playoffs (a series they went on to win)

and let's not forget ibaka getting hurt right before the western conference finals last year

maybe if brooks could figure out how to properly manage westbrook's and Durant's mins so that both players are not sitting at the same time.. would be a nice 1st step

I'm curious to see what happens with reggie (he'll be a RFA at the end of next season).. what teams will offer him money wise.. what teams will be willing to trade..

I assume we'll make a decent offer since we have perkins deal coming off the books at the end of next year

Won't be surprised one bit to see him getting tagged an inflated value. If the last two off-seasons indicated anything, it's that players are still being overvalued.

Also, Reggie would want to get a lot more playing time as well. Do you guys think he's okay playing under Westbrook all the time? He wants some shine too.

^ you do realize he can play with westbrook right..

and reggie's going be playing the super sub role this season.. so he should getting at least 30 mins per, between both guard spots

Okc's offensive set up SUCKS. They literally win on talent and speed alone. That's a coaching problem more than anything.

Defense is also a huge problem. OKC loves to give up career numbers to random players at any given time.

I'm not dissipointed on their losses in the post season. They've always lost to the better team. That team also usually turns out to win the championship.

Something tells me this is going to be like a James Harden situation all over again. Some team is going to overbid on this guy.

This is the perfect segway for another "hot topic" in S&T. But I'm not going to go there :lol

Except when the Grizz beat them last year :lol

Last major problem is their problem of what I can't really call anything else but "stopped playing" :lol

At any point of any game OKC can lose no matter what. Up 20? 5mins left? No biggie :lol

+ kevin martin playing like bunz

I was really disappointed that year when OKC had Kevin Martin on the team and couldn't utilize him properly. Martin is a terrific shooter and can def. create his own shot. IDK what the issue was. Was it team chemistry? Lack of mins or just poor coaching?

They could've really had something if he was used the right way.

I liked Kevin Martin until that OKC year. @DatZNasty  pointed it out one day that he was the quintessential feast or famine player and that all his averages should be ignored because of it. It was funny, but then I started paying attention to it. Thunder vs the Kings? Kevin Martins gonna go out and drop 25 points. Next game they play ANY playoff team? 6 points for K Mart. It became a theme for dude, they played any team worth anything and he was a non factor.

I realized this too. The fact that Martin is considered a notorious "Grizz killer" from his days with SAC and HOU, I knew something was wrong come playoff time. He just fails to step up in big games.

Still never understood why a team with Ibaka, KD, and Westbrook needed Kevin Martin to drop 25 on good teams. Some 4th option, 6th men are consistent 12 ppg guys. Some of them score 12 ppg but do it by scoring either 7 a game or 22 a game. There's value in both of them. If Brooks had a more creative offensive system, the good teams wouldn't be able to clamp up the role players like they still do even with KMart gone.

Kmart was never a part of the offense, that was the problem. If the ball somehow got to him by some random act then he'd shoot it.

Ibaka during that year isn't like what he was last season offensively.

I never liked Kevin Martin. Always thought he was an empty numbers guy. Plus, I find his game annoying.

I honestly think lack of depth instead of coaching has been OKC's biggest issue.
Ehhh, it's a mix of both for sure. Their bench looked really good for a while because of harden. Now other than nick , Reggie and Adams the rest have been useless. Not to mention their starting 5 (of last season, not sure what it is now), had 2 people that were absolutely useless.

I cant go that far. To say I dont like Kevin Martins game means I dont like Manu Ginoblis game or James Harden. He just sucks at it compared to those two.

Martin became a need when Westbrook got hurt..

Eh, I don't see Martin as that comparable to either of those guys. He's more of a jump shooter than them. Yes, like Manu and Harden, a big component of his game is getting to the FT line. But that's pretty much the extent of the similarities. Harden and Manu are both way better ball handlers and play makers. Martin can't pass to save his life. And just from a purely aesthetic standpoint, pretty much everything Martin does is kind of ugly IMO.

Nah his game is completely different from the two.
Manu and Harden can make a difference on the game alone on their passing.
Kev can't even do that fam. He can only shoot, and most of the time when he scores is during unimportant stretches.
Even Harden is a better defender than Martin :{
