In all honesty though, PG has enough room for improvement on his shot and ball handling that I think, if he really works hard, he can get to be an efficient 26-27 ppg scorer.

Eventually yeah, but he just recieved a significant physical setback but more importantly a huge mental setback..

I would gladly have a team of glorified energy guys if they're anything like AD

You would have a team of dudes putting up empty #s on a lotto team that cant be a reliable #1 option :lol

Hes top 5 but his #s cant compare to loves who was also on a lotto team

So how is he top 5

That's true, but it actually could help him in the long run. Having to sit out for a year may help him regain focus and make him want to improve more. Plus, bone breaks, while terrible to see, seem to be easier to come back from than torn ligaments, tendons, etc.

I love how players get built up just to get destroyed by the same people who built them up. If AD doesn't somehow averages at least 24 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks and led his team to the playoff, I want to see what the thoughts on him are.

I think there are 10 players in the league better than PG. PG,s ball handling and shooting needs some work to do to take that "Leap."Had he not had that incredibly hot shooting start, he probably would have been around 19, 20 ppg.

From a production standpoint, I'm betting that this is his peak, and if it isn't, his peak will be marginally better than this. Unless you're steph curry, to be a dynamo, efficient scorer in this league you have to get to the free throw line. PG's inability to dribble relegates him to the perimeter, and it also forces him to take some incredibly bad shots. You combine that with his streakiness as a shooter, and you get 21 a game on 42% which isn't bad when you combine his defensive capabilities, but it isn't elite.

PG's FTA's have gone up every year which is a great sign however. But, I don't know if they'll get to the point to where it can compensate for his lack of dribbling skills which forces him into bad shots. His leap offensively will depend on his handle. Tighten that up, and hell be able to get to the line a lot more, which will make him not only score more, but in a more efficient manner.

"Hes not even in his prime yet"

Typical NT

That mental thought of it happening again is a setback though..he said he actually looked down and saw his bone poking out and it felt like gasoline and lit match..that gotta do some mental damage

PG and Drose will both have that thought of what if here n there for a while..

So, does defense not matter, at all, in the NBA anymore?

Like, why does Harden at 24 points, mean more than George at 21, when George dominates the **** outta Harden overall defensively?

What, Harden isn't "that" bad of a defender again? :rolleyes

I like Steph, Love, Harden, Melo, etc, but they don't do jack **** on the other side of the court. Guys like Davis and George do, and yet, NT seems to be unable to grasp why some praise those players, while knocking their offensive heroes.

So how is he top 5

Anthony Davis, coming off of his 2nd season is doing 20 and 10 with over 2 blocks a game

Kevin Love coming off of his 2nd season was doing 14 and 11 with 0.4 blocks a game

Kevin Love is doing 24 and 12 right now but plays no defense

I'd take Davis's 20 and 10 and what he brings on defense over Love's numbers anyway.

Funny how you're using 'empty numbers on a lotto team' to describe AD when you can use the exact same words to describe Love

Love's second year FG% was 46%. Davis second year is 51.9% and that is with 359 more attempts.

Paul George has room for improvement, same for most players in the league, jeez. They already said he'll come back the same player when it's all said and done because he didn't tear any major ligaments.

I don't think he's there yet, but I believe by the end of the season AD will be there. His capacity to grow into an elite defender will set him apart from the other PFs people have in this discussion.

Saw that Kobe was trending on Twitter. Couldn't figure out why. Apparently, Brandon Jennings says Kobe is the GOAT. Uh oh.

BRANDON JENNINGS ‏@BrandonJennings 29m
MJ never won without Pippen. Kobe won 2 rings without another great on his team. Kobe is The Goat

Sad to hear about AI and his struggles.
Some cats just never learn to live within their means. Not to mention his deep entourage.
He made his own bed and now he has to lie in it. He was given several shots but kept burning bridges and his ego wouldn't let him put his glory days behind him.
