Cousins wasn't no damn "good defender" coming out of college. Stop it :lol. He also shot poorly when he first came into the league...is still inefficient and turnover prone. Jahlil is a black hole...but his handle and vision are there. He can already hit the foul line jumper....and is taking bigs off the dribble routinely.

I think Jahlil can become an average defender overall if Demarcus Cousins can. That's definitely fair.

he doesn't have vision. :lol

This is one of the biggest misconceptions about Okafor, that he was a good passer in college, he was a DECENT passer against college defense. but it took him dribbling around with the ball for 4-5 seconds before he could make the correct read. and he had a really low assist rate.

Okafor wasn't a great passer in college and he's even more of a black hole in the pros. and that's reflected in his single digit assist rates.

Cousins was a good defender at Kentucky, and in his rookie year, if you WATCHED him, you could see the instincts, hands, incredible defensive rebounding, the problem was effort and fouling, that's a complete different than Okafor who is slow, poor iq and struggles making the right rotations. much more difficult to fix.

Kentucky had a top 5 defense, with Cousins, and Boogie was a big part of that.

The only way Okafor and Cousins are comparable is the handle and the post game.

All Okafor, has to do become Cousins type is become an elite passer, rebounder, good defender, decent shooter to be like Cousins. That is a LONG way to go.

Nah. Lopez ain't a good rebounder for his size. Right now Jalil ain't either. I think he can develop into one. I might be wrong. Only time will tell. But he's definitely gonna impact games more than Brook damn Lopez. :lol

why?

He was an indifferent rebounder in HS, College and now as a pro. What makes you think he will become a better rebounder than the taller, heaveir brook lopez? :lol

Like just pure hoping an wishing?

You acting like Lopez been pulling 11-12 rebounds a game and getting 3 blocks. :lol He average one more rebound then Jalil as a rookie. I just think Jalil will get better at rebounding, you don't, cool.

You have a really skewed vision of who cousins was...and who he is now. Virtually ALL scouting reports had his weakness as maturity, athleticism, lateral quickness, defense, conditioning.

I watched all of kentuckys game in 09-10. Kentucky was a good defensive team because of the overall talent and Cal's scheme. They are ****** Kentucky in the SEC with 5 first rounders. Of course they're defensive numbers would be good :lol.

All Cousins had to do to become who he is today is: get in better shape, become a good defender, become a decent jump shooter, mature.

A lot would've said that is a LONG WAY to go 4 years ago. Stop it man. Revisionist like a mug. All the tools were there for cousins.

All the tools are there for Jahlil. He can become a better defender, shooter and rebounder with time. It's not a long shot.

We lose one game...

Man, it wasn't just a loss though. We got housed in our own building on national TV. Wasn't even competitive after about mid-way through the 1st quarter.

We need to be real about what we are. A good team that is a tier below the Cavs, Dubs and Spurs. TBH, we're probably overachieved this season considering how much time Blake has missed. Getting Blake back may push us up another level, but considering it's not going to happen until there's just a couple weeks left in the season, there's just not going to be enough time for him to get integrated back enough to make a big difference.

Going to be another season where we get out of the 1st round in 7 and lose in round 2. But this year we won't have the tease of possibly advancing to the WCF because we'll get handled quickly in the semis.

But I've enjoyed this season. Aside from today, the team competes hard and I've enjoyed seeing both CP and JJ have career seasons in their 30s.

whats wrong with Wrestling? :lol

id rather watch wwe than watch the Lakers play right now

Apparently so would the dubs :lol

I used to be heavy into wrestling and really only stopped watching when the rock, stone cold and all them left. Still I can admit it's hella sus :lol. Rikishi smothering his cheeks in everyone's face. Bronco buster, gold dust, val venis etc. Pro wrestling is ridiculous :lol. But it's all about swag and entertainment so it's cool

not revising anyhting, if you think you can scheme your way to a top 5 defensive I think you are fooling yourself.

If you want to bet on Okafor suddenly becoming a completely different player go ahead.

Maybe he learns to play defense, learns to rebound at an elite level, learns to shoot, learns to pass at an elite level. I'll bet no, you can bet yes, we shall see.

fyi

Cousins was top 15 in the league in charges drawn as a rookie, led the league in charges drawn, in 2013 and 2014.

if that doesn't speak to his defensive IQ, I don't know what does. He always had the insticts.

Jahlil doesn't.

If you were a player, GM, etc. would you rather with DeMarcus Cousins or Derrick Favors?
