can't discredit Duncan and the Spurs for being handed a championship when the league was in a drought of talent.
They showed a lot of grit bouncing back from that Ray Allen shot. If lebby's team had a choke job as epic as the Spurs he would have quit basketball. Duncan stuck in there and was rewarded for it.

They convinced Richard Jefferson to opt out.
Got Dunc, Manu, and TP to take less money.
Then used that to get Diaw, Green and Tiago. Also helped having the horrible Bobcats cut Diaw so they didn't give anything up.
Made a great trade for Kawhi. That part was well done.
Now got West to leave 10 million dollars on the table.
They're circumventing the salary cap, that has extended their success.

This dude really tried to say they "squeezed out an extra ring". Lol wut? They shoulda had one in 2013 as well. This was all largely done by an aging core that included One real hall of famer...a fringe HOF'er (TP) and a great 6th man (manu)....as well as a crew of castaways who were on their way out the league (Diaw, Green, Mills, Neal) etc etc. LMA is their first big time FO.
Smart drafting, trades, scouting, FA signings, staff signings, rest, sacrifice has enabled the Spurs to be a consistent threat in this league. Can't hate on that.
Spurs just outsmarted the league and stayed consistent. Being this consistent over this long of a period is incredibly hard to do in the NBA. Especially with an aging roster. Yet the Spurs found a way.
