50 40 90 are some of the most basic, and first efficiency stats though . Ain't advanced or nothing. And an even more amazing feat....

When you factor in that he averaged 30/7/6 on them percentages. While winning 73 games. Hitting 400 3's....and leading the league in steals just for shts and giggles :x

Those are even better than prime MJ numbers. Truly God level.

Then when you start to do the whole 'per 36 minutes' thing the numbers look even crazier. lol That's how you get the best PER ever.

The biggest mismatch IMO when talking about championship teams playing one another would be the 09-10 lakers horrible defending the pick and roll and you can't expect curry to be locked down by Kobe.

They were definitely blue. I remember seeing that on TV...I actually still have the vhs tape I used to record it lol

I still remember that '96 season. I'm not even going to lie, I drank the Kool-Aid; after Penny held the fort down while Shaq was injured, I said good riddance. And yes, technically, with no state tax, Shaq would have made more w/ Orlando, but the damage was done.

Whether Shaq stayed or not, they wouldn't have won the chip while the Bulls were re-establishing their dynasty. Plus, Penny's knee injury occurred while playing with Shaq, Nick Anderson's confidence was shot (though he still had a solid career) and Dennis Scott was a one dimensional player. And don't let the 30 for 30 fool you, they had no bench whatsoever.

Still, we had that '97 Heat series where Penny went 42, 41, 33 in games 3-5 respectively.

He was killing it that series. I was rooting for the magic to pull off the upset

Jerkoff move, but I think I am just going to flip them. 50/50 on actually going, more interested in road tripping it up to game 4 in Dallas (3hr drive or ~30 minute flight)

Man that 30 for 30 was emotional. Remember when my pops saw that Orlando Sentinel Article: Is Shaq worth 100 million. 85% believed he wasn't. My pops cussed out some guy on radio who was affiliated with the Orlando Senitnel. I love my city. Never really was the same when we lost Shaq. I realized after watching it that I never really got over it.

Never realized 3D was taking close to 6 3's per game and hitting over 40% of them. Nick Anderson too. 90s splash Bro's.

To the poster up there....3D was def not a one dimensional player. He just couldn't defend from what I remember. If Penny's Knee doesn't go out, and Shaq stays....Orlando immediately becomes the premier team in the East after MJ'a retirement. You pick and pluck players around Shaq, Penny, Horace Grant core. Would've been an intersting 99 NBA finals between Shaq and Duncan.

They tasted success a lil too soon. You gotta get beat up a lil bit, to understand the process.

Orlando was my favorite team growing up. I use to watch all of Penny's Memphis State games and just knew I was going to become a huge fan of whatever team he went to. I use to tape the Team USA games when Penny played and re-watch them trying to study his moves at 7 years old

I even taped a lot of the Orlando games that came on TV. Talk about being heratbroken during that NBA Finals loss
