I disagree. They just pretty much loss all confidence after that first game cause honestly, that has to be one of the worst ways to lose. From being up damn near 20 to having TWO opportunities to put it to a two possession game with less than 8 seconds left to losing in OT off of a tip in all while being at home after losing just TWO games in the Orena that season..that's a lot to take in for a team as young as they were.

In the regular season they beat Houston in their match ups I believe so i think they were a better squad. They just loss all focus cause of immaturity

And then Shaq summed it up.. compare it to Jerry West and saying "I'll see what I can do". That's the difference. Recognizing the talent, what it takes to get it, and then going after it. 

Shaq clearly wanted LA and the bigger spotlight regardless, but Orlando didn't do themselves any favors.

West wanted Shaq, but didn't think he could pull him. He had Mutumbo and Dale Davis lined up as a package deal plan B. Would've also meant they could keep Peeler.

Watching this SEC storied chronicling Shaq.

I've never seen a Coach take a shot at a player but Hack-a-Shaq had become a thing and they were playing Tennessee.
One of Tennesse's bigs pulls/hacks Shaq as he's going up and Dale Brown(LSU Coach) flew off the bench and pushed the player that hacked him.
