We go over this every year: there are only five west coast teams and three mountain teams. If you'll notice, the late game on TNT double headers (almost) always features one of those eight teams playing at home. Some of those teams use up their allotted national TV slots, or they're on the road, so TNT has to fill in the gaps. Sometimes the late game is in the central time zone, but they'll push the broadcast up an hour. The NBA doesn't start games past 8:30 local time.

I just scrolled through the schedule. Ironically, Memphis is the only non west coast or mountain team that got a late TNT home game this year. And it starts an hour earlier than TNT's late game normally does.

Rose missed a bunch of games in the lockout season, and because east and west teams only played each other once that year it would have been easy to miss that game. Not sure what happened in 2010-11. We know Russ didn't miss any games, so Rose must have sat out one randomly.
