2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

redd spyder redd spyder edit that last post quickly...I got banned from TAN for saying "the internet is a great thing" and banned from the last Knicks thread for saying something similar

Sorry but my favorite player in the last 10 years was first year Stat dude as a absolutely monster. Dude was really the most valuable player is every aspect of that team.

omg i think i love u... u use to be a lowkey hater of STAT.. omahgawz i haz excite

H20's contract was interesting. He got superstar money, but was basically a Joe Johnson type of player. Really wasn't his fault since Layden was incompetent, but it definitely took away from his legacy. Houston and Spreewell were the ill duo. The combo of heart, fire and skill. That was a fun team.

^agreed H20 is one of my favorite Knicks. Anyone mad at him for taking the dough would've done the same thing. :lol

I wouldn't say Joe Johnson type. But he was a big part of what we were doing in the late 90's. That Knicks team had a lot depth and guys willing to go the extra distance. We had a coach who would do anything for his players and guys who also played for eachother and wasn't worried about off-court distractions.

I'd love to see another Knicks team like that, because now I can actually afford to go to games :lol

I don't blame H20 or Stat one bit for signing on the dotted line...I just compared two max contracts and 1 of which is already hired by the organization in retirement.

Circumstances were different for H20 :lol I do recall after he got the contract he was dunking a bit more and there was more of a focus when he scored 40+ and 50+. Different era and team though. For that period he was healthy aint like he had a real #2 around him. Son was just getting by with Charlie Ward.

This is true. I just always questioned how far that team would've went in the playoffs. I didn't completely buy in to that supporting cast.

STAT was truly PHENOMENAL then though. Probably the best he's played in his career as a #1 option.

It all went downhill when he tried touching the top of the backboard :{

I wonder what STAT could've been had he never gotten hurt.

The thing is it was his knees that were supposed to start the falling off process. Based on the Suns reports Amare was on a slippery slope. He jump started things by injuring his back. A freak accident did it all :{
