You guys hear that Buster Olney explanation of what might go down with Thome?
Placed on waivers, White Sox might claim him, if they can't reach a deal the Twins pull Thome back, place him on the waived/released list in which Thome then has the power to veto any claims against him, effectively making him a free agent, so that he may sign with any team he chooses, like........The Phillies.
Olney said if that goes down, the league will line up outside Bud's office pitchforks in hand.
(Olney didn't really get cool with the pitchfork line, I added that myself)

Details are real sketchy....but wow... RIP
Damn shame - he was one of my dad's favorites back in the day. Even pitched the last innings for the Orioles at old Memorial Stadium. RIP to an O's great.
