Mets pitchers have great secondary stuff though. This whole 95 mph BA is meaningless. Not like the mets have guys without pitchability and just raw velo.

I don't think it's everything or I'd say Royals before 7.

It's something though, and Mets really need more than just 2 Consistent hitters this series.

I need to see more than just Grandy and Murphy

Offense needs to provide some cushion or else they'll blow games in the 7th and 8th innings.

I got a hunch Duda and Wright both wake up and play well this series.  I wouldn't say the Royals starting pitching staff is trash by any means, but lets just say its a downgrade from some of the guys the Mets have faced this playoffs.

They gotta score early though. Not feeling the potential prospect of Reed or Clippard coming in in a close game to perserve a lead for an inning before Familia.

I am not saying you are wrong that your starting pitching wont stifle the Royals bats....but using the Cubs as your example is what I cant get behing.

The Cubs were a boom or bust type team.  Homeruns, homeruns and more homeruns.  The Royals are not like that.  They can beat a team offensively in any number of ways.

Should be a great series.  I got the Royals to win, but I wouldn't be disappointed with a Mets win at all.

Royals in 6 - only because I want to see them celebrate at the K
Too many ways to win (smallball, Homeruns, passing the baton)
One of the most opportunistic teams I've seen play. Make one mistake and they'll pounce on you
Best defense, Gold gloves behind the plate, infield, and outfield
42 come from behind wins this season/postseason
One of the best bullpens statistically in MLB history
Least amount of strikeouts against
Mets better bring their A++++++ game or they are going to hit a wall (ala '07 Rox)

You can't make a prediction based off of that.
I mean you can, I guess, but that doesn't feel off to you my dude?

I can honestly see them sweeping the Mets but I'll give them a couple games. I think the media and the fact they skunked the Cubs have them thinking they're the '27 Yankees and the Royals don't have a chance against this "Murderers Row" pitching rotation. Honestly I don't think any of the Mets pitchers are as good as David Price. The Royals have been on a mission for the past year being only 90 feet away from winning and they have a better team than last year. I'd love to see another classic 7 game series, but I don't see it happening

I'm hoping for 7 games and a couple walkoffs.

This is why no one likes the royals now.

Point taken and you are correct. The Royals are definitely a different hitting team. But they say good pitching beats good hitting.

The big thing about the KC 1-9 is that they will make you work; they will chase pitches and somehow put it into the gap or down the line. Mets pitchers love the strikeout, so it's going to be fun to see how they handle the aggressive Royals hitting.

My gut tells me the Mets are gonna win in 5 or 6.
