So easy to blame clip but putting guys on base happens especially against this scrappy royals team. What isn't supposed to happen is booting a routine ground ball that makes it two outs. This game is on Murphy.

The only bright spot I can see is the mets having Harvey, deGrom, and Thor. If they clean it up a little they can take this to a Game 7. This could've been Mets up 3-1 right now. Baseball really is a game of inches.

If Murphy doesn't choke we probably go up 3-2 with Harvey on the mound tonight. But it's over. Too many lackadaisical plays by Murphy and Cespedes.

I am disgusted from what I've seen of Cespedes in the World Series. Careless, lazy defense, foolish base running and a pathetic inability to lay off a breaking ball in the dirt with two strikes. He's gotten punched out on that pitch at least 10 times in the postseason. Pathetic. Zero interest in paying him after he showed his true colors.

Sad part about the whole thing is both Cespedes and Murphy are going to get paid handsomely this offseason.

Cespedes' numbers haven't been good at all through the first 4 games. Just have Lagares out there to minimize mistakes.

Cespedes has been a liability in all areas of baseball. In fielding, batting base running everything. he is a total bum and he can go kick rocks for all I care.

Fools gold. Both of them. Last night is what Mets fans have saw from Murphy for years defensively; completely absent on routine plays. He reverted back to old Murphy last night at the worst time possible. Like Buckner in Boston, that is what he will be remembered for until the Mets win a championship. It's magnified that much more playing in New York.

Murphy carried them into the World Series, he won't be looked at the same as Bill Buckner. Still an awful, costly play though.

roll with familia for two innings or once that first batter reached based

how's the bullpen looking like for both teams. familia would be pitching three nights in a row if they use him. kc been hitting him real good, even in gm3 when they made good contact outs. harvey has to go deep and be dominant and offense has to blow this one open. love to see another close one

Wasn't around all day/night yesterday. Collins and I'd say Murphy lost Game 3.

- Matz left with, what, 84 pitches? Too short a leash IMO
- Murphy has to field that ball. His Buckner costume was fitting for Halloween night
- Cespedes goofed big time on that final out. I think this postseason has turned a lot of Mets fans away from wanting to re-sign him. They have reason to have soured on him for the way he's been lax in the outfield and pretty ghost at the plate
- Familia isn't meant to see the 8th to be honest. And at that same time, neither is Clippard :x

Don't see the Mets winning the next 3.. not 2 in KC anyhow.
