Mets fans turn on players with the quickness.

Harvey in September, now Cespedes in October.

If Cespedes manages to hit a walk-off in Game 7 they'll be acting like they never doubted him :lol

Isnt this the way Cespedes was playing when the Red Sox got rid of him?
@MattFlenerKMBC: Lorenzo Cain just said he screamed at Daniel Murphy to distract him before Murphy's error in the 8th inning.

so LoCain is gonna get killed the same way A-Rod did, right?
Or nah.

People like Cain. Huge difference.

Wasn't around all day/night yesterday. Collins and I'd say Murphy lost Game 3.

- Matz left with, what, 84 pitches? Too short a leash IMO
- Murphy has to field that ball. His Buckner costume was fitting for Halloween night
- Cespedes goofed big time on that final out. I think this postseason has turned a lot of Mets fans away from wanting to re-sign him. They have reason to have soured on him for the way he's been lax in the outfield and pretty ghost at the plate
- Familia isn't meant to see the 8th to be honest. And at that same time, neither is Clippard :x

Don't see the Mets winning the next 3.. not 2 in KC anyhow.

Matz was on a short leash all season with it only getting shorter after returning from the slight lat tear. He wasn't going to get more than 95 pitches. He should have been out after the fifth. He already qualified for the win. There was no reason for him to be out in the sixth. This is the World Series. **** giving someone more reps and confidence. There's 162 games next season for that.

This is what I wrote in the Mets thread:

He managed this game extremely poorly.

-Lets Matz bat in the 5th. Should have taken him out.
-Takes out Conforto.
-Brings in Tyler Clippard instead of having Colon come out for the eighth. He's seen how much Clippard struggled in late August and September but trusted him this late in the game. Mets fans knew this, but TC didn't.
-Used Familia last night and then expects him to get five outs.

He's an awful manager. Always has been, always will be. The Mets managed to get this far because of what they did on the field, not through the decisions he made.

Or nah.

People like Cain. Huge difference.

BULL ****. Bush league is bush league. One player can't get away with it because he's "likeable" and the other isn't.

you're complaining about a bunch of meaningless stuff. Matz deserved to go into the 6th. You have a weak bullpen, you need to try and get a couple of more outs of your starter, especially when he was dealing. taking conforto out for defense with a lead has been the game plan since the call up, it's what you do to protect a lead. there's nothing wrong with asking familia to get 4 or 5 outs, he's shown an ability to do so and he isn't going to be gassed just because he pitched the night before. end of the day, murphy makes that play, it's two outs and the defense shifted accordingly instead of being in double play depth. go blame Terry like it's his fault Murphy booted a routine ground ball and Cespedes gets doubled up on a soft liner to third.

matz was done. his arm isnt use to a high pitch count. you are risking injury if you pushed him further. royals were figuring him out his last inning
i agree, difficult to see kc drop two straight in kc IF this goes back

Whatever makes you feel better about last night. Matz wasn't dealing. He was losing what control he had in the sixth. Niese and Colon bailed him out.
Protect the lead with a suspect Lagares who is a shell of himself from last year. Now we're acting like Conforto has no arm to throw runners out from LF? He was fifth in the National League with six outfield assists this season in 50 games played. Cespedes, when he feels like it, is a better outfielder than 2015 Lagares.

I'm just explaining why not.

If you want to rally MLB fans to go at Cain's throat, knock yourself out.

MLB fans went at Arod once it was found out he did it, because MLB fans already didn't like him.

You act more favorably to people you like compared to people you don't, also. Guarantee it.

where were you complaining about Terry going to Lagares with a lead in August then? It's what he's done since the moves were made, and it's the right move. Stop playing monday morning QB and look at things objectively. Terry isn't at fault, Murphy is.

:lol Monday Morning QB. TC has been a ****** manager for years, thrown under the bus by everyone, but now he's Mr. Untouchable? Got it. Enjoy Game 5 tonight.

you're *****ing about the most trivial moves. moves that have worked all damn year but because murphy boots a ******* ground ball it's now Terry's fault. in what world is taking out a rookie with limited range for a former gold glover a bad thing when it's been done all damn year long? stop blaming terry like it's his fault the mets lost.

Can't believe Murphy is getting so much abuse. Tyler Clippard lost that game for the Mets. You don't protect a lead by walking two.

Word
So easy to blame clip but putting guys on base happens especially against this scrappy royals team. What isn't supposed to happen is booting a routine ground ball that makes it two outs. This game is on Murphy.

They both happen. This game is on Clippard before Murphy based on that logic alone.

Game is on the Mets, but it's on Clippard before Murphy. Murphy deserves 10 errors if you ask me

game is ultimately on terry lol, he should never have brought clip into that situation. clip has absolutely stunk for us the past 2 months, so why put him in an actual hold situation. Cant believe Terry said he didnt bring familia in cause he wanted him available today, what a joke

As far as fault between Clippard and Murphy goes... They're both at fault :lol

Walks are never good and neither is making errors on routine plays :lol

so LoCain is gonna get killed the same way A-Rod did, right?

He said this?

I'm unfamiliar here but, don't guys like Familia, Closers, pitch every game if needed?

I guess what I'm asking is, 'They don't get rest do they?'

He had Familia start throwing as soon as Clippard came into the game, he just didn't want to burn him for 2 innings. Plan the entire playoffs has been just get 1 or 2 outs in the 8th and let Familia do the rest, and that's what the mission was last night.
