Do you guys think Braun being accused of PEDs would hurt him in the MVP race. If anything he's proving he's that good with no need of them but I have that feeling theyre gonna hold it against him. Brewers only 3 games out now unless they blow this 6 run lead.

i get a kick out of you clowns talking about the Nationals.

O's win again to put some distance between them and the Rays.

I hope the Rays and Yanks destroy each other this weekend and Baltimore keeps climbing. :smokin

The people worried about Strasburg is everyone but Nationals fans/followers.....that teams has a lot more ammo than just Strasburg. They will be fine.

Ive stated before I think he did it but I really don't care. he just ended up having a better season than last and we now know for sure he's not on anything.

Btw the only reason I say accused is because he's about to have a 40 HR season. Part of me still wants to believe he was always clean :lol

The NL west is over. Only shot the dodgers have is in the WC and the way they are playing, it isn't looking good. :x :lol

Braves looking to win a WC spot, but i want the division not looking likely.

Nats almost guaranteed to win the NL East they swept the Mets who posted a 0-6 homestand Lol :x

Oh, of course. The court of public opinion can be just as harsh as any punishment levied from the league. In most people's eyes, right or wrong, Braun beat his PED case on a technicality or legal maneuvering. I don't feel the average baseball fan believes the "Hebrew Hammer" is completely exonerated of the allegations and charges initially brought forward. Unfortunately for Ryan, his career may always be tainted by this black eye situation.

mfreshm: Help me with the Bourn for NL MVP Campaign. :lol

That's a big part of it. The way he shuts down the running game and controls a staff helps. If his offense didn't come around the way it has the last year and a half, I'd probably have Posey ahead of him. Not like there's a HUGE difference but I'd take Yadi for right now.

Of course I do :lol

I'm not saying it's outrageous either way. Overall, I think Heyward has been more valuable this season. A lot of Bourn's "worth" is tied into a defensive statistic that's way too inaccurate when accounting for year to year defense. Especially on Baseball Reference, that WAR is a little off. No accounting for park factors, opponents and more emphasis on defense than even FG. I think the stats paint the picture for it:

Name Team G PA H HR R RBI SB BB% K% ISO BABIP AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ Fld BsR WAR
Michael Bourn Braves 143 656 162 9 88 56 39 9.50% 21.30% 0.12 0.348 0.277 0.347 0.397 0.332 109 21 3 6.1
Jason Heyward Braves 141 582 143 26 82 71 19 9.50% 24.10% 0.22 0.327 0.274 0.344 0.494 0.36 128 16.4 6.2 6.1
