Stimulants weren't tested for back then just like steroids weren't testing for until 2002 so by that logic, Bonds record is still legit.

:lol

That's fine, I understand both sides of the argument. I just know what side I stand on. Just embrace that there will be two sides to the argument, you seem appalled when PED's are mentioned.

I'm appalled because its an argument made on feeling as opposed to logic and evidence, I hate that. Its fine just understand your side of the argument lacks actual evidence, logic or reason.

If we are giving out * we can give one out too Willie Mays and Hank Aaron for stimulant use, Gaylord Perry for altering the ball, any one pre Jackie Robinson for no black people in the league etc etc.

The baseball players' association may not go to bat for every player involved in Major League Baseball's latest drug investigation.

Union head Michael Weiner told the New York Daily News that the MLBPA is "not interested" in protecting players for whom overwhelming evidence exists that they used performance-enhancing drugs.

Welp....

The video in the link ^^ says 1:10 players are allowed to use adderall for therapeutic reasons. So there's at least around 80 players who are known to still take amphetamines and the game is cleaner than ever?

you guys that are against ped's to the point where you think clemens, bonds, etc shouldn't go into the hall -

you are a dinosaurs & the argument itself won't last much longer

They belong in the Hall of Fame, without question. Their plaques do not need an * or any kind of note concerning suspicions of PED usage. Let journalism take care of that.

The era was what it was. People know what went on, those players worthy should definitely be in

As a cubs fan, I want Sosa in the HOF

As he should be, along with Bonds, Mcgwire, Palmerio, Clemens and anyone else who used or was suspected of using during that era. MLB turned a blind eye to what was going on and profited from their success

steroid conversation and we're only talking about hitters as if pitchers are so above PEDs.. i'll see yall later.

Steroids is such a sensitive topic, you can go back and forth for weeks and we have no idea how many players were on stuff.

McGwire and Sosa don't belong in the HOF in my opinion because they weren't **** before the steroids.

Roger and Barry....it's tough. Barry was great before he was juicing. The problem with Roger is they say he's been juicing since super early in his career but we don't know.

Jeter back on the DL

(AP) — Derek Jeter is back on the disabled list.

The Yankees placed their captain on the 15-day DL on Friday. He strained his right quad in his first game back with New York last week after being out all season with a broken left ankle.

The Yankees had waited to make a decision, using the four days of the All-Star break for the shortstop to receive treatment. But with New York set to open the second half of the season against the Red Sox in Boston on Friday, the team announced the move.

YANKEES: A-Rod to return Monday

The Yankees also signed infielder Brent Lillibridge from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The 39-year-old Jeter singled on his first pitch in a major league game this year as the Yankees beat Kansas City on July 11, but he left in the eighth inning when his quad tightened in his third at-bat.

At the time, Jeter said he hoped the strain was "not a big deal."

He missed the weekend series against Minnesota but hoped to avoid the DL.

"It's frustrating. I don't know what else you want me to say," Jeter said in a statement a day after the injury. "I worked hard to get to the point of rejoining the team yesterday. It's not how you draw it up, but hopefully I'll be back out there soon and help this team win some games."

After just four rehabilitation games, the Yankees pushed up the star shortstop's return one day after Brett Gardner and Travis Hafner got hurt. Jeter had been telling the team he was ready to return, and general manager Brian Cashman said reports from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre were positive.

So Jeter came back to a huge ovation and beat out an infield hit in his first at-bat. He also scored a run and had an RBI on a groundout that ended in a close play at first. He was pinch hit for in the eighth inning.

A-ROD: What his return means for the team

Jeter joins Mark Teixeira (wrist surgery), outfielder Curtis Granderson (broken pinkie) and catcher Francisco Cervelli (broken hand), who have been hurt and then had setbacks or second injuries.

Teixeira returned briefly before season-ending surgery. Cervelli developed a stress reaction and is shut down for now. Granderson broke his forearm in his first at-bat in spring training only to be hit again after eight games back.

Alex Rodriguez is set to join Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, likely the final stop in his rehabilitation from left hip surgery before he returns to the Yankees as early as Monday.

Despite all the injuries, the Yankees were 51-44 at the All-Star break, six games behind first-place Boston but sitting in fourth in the tough AL East. They were three games out of the last wild card spot.

With this great resource called the internet, people don't use it to back up their claims, :lol.

It gets very muddy on who to allow and why. When steroids/PED's became rampant, etc, etc.

I think all those with worthy numbers from the Steroid/"Live Ball" era should be allowed in the Hall. This includes Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, etc.

It is an important era in baseball history.

Sounding like Garza will be a Ranger tonight or tomorrow. Let's hope it's not another Dempster to the Braves/Dodgers type of mishap.

Get me 3 more kids and less payroll going forward, I'm good.

Soriano someday will get dealt. :lol

Soriano had a decent year last yr though but yea that was a horrible contract...

Name I have seen is Neil Ramirez, over Mike Olt, and C.J. Edwards, who supposedly are the two better prospects. So not sure the deal there. I imagine Dirk would know much better.

The updates come nonstop, but some random NL team is trying to last minute steal him, which is fine by me if the Cubs get teams in a bidding war and up our haul. I'd like to see that happen.

This Nats/Dodgers series has some awesome pitching matchups. Strasburg vs. Nolasco, Greinke vs. Gonzalez, and Kershaw vs. Zimmermann.

Oh yeah, Harper vs. Puig as well. :smokin
