you can't see it with the lighting of the camera, but there's a full moon over the bay too.

Martin Prado raking like Pro posted a scathing article about his hitting.

He's been on a tear since the break. You just beat me for him :lol

Can't believe Goldy is their first player in 4 years to hit 30/100. Feels like they always have a stud offensive player every year.

Joe Mauer's 5.3 WAR is #1 among catchers in MLB (and AL, if you were wondering). Next highest catcher is Houston's Jason Castro at 3.3.

:lol it got chilly later on, but i had long sleeves under my jersey so i was good. i came prepared...figured it'd be similar to an early spring or late sept game in boston :lol

Don't take this as me saying he's not that good JPZ :lol but Baseball Reference/ESPN WAR is a little flawed. He's best in the AL but a smidge behind Yadi.

Catcher WAR is funky because they still haven't really figured out a way to capture the defensive worth of catchers.

You even gotta look at Buster Posey a bit, but of all of them I'd still take Mauer (surprise, right?). Never played on a playoff team with good pitching while in his prime... something you can't have postseason success without.

For sure. They're both pretty decently (?) ahead of everyone else right now. Dig into the leaderboards, Martin has been almost as valuable as Posey this year :lol

I've always loved Mauer, you remember I never wanted him to extend with you guys. Wanted him to replace Jorge. Sucks he's on the concussion list now.

Yeah, I know you like him. :hat

But it's easy to like Mauer when he just plays his *** off and does his thing while the Yankees are using his team as a stepping stone to the ALCS. :lol

2004- Lost the first one, but rattled off three straight.
2009- Sweep
2010- Sweep

Nine straight playoff wins against us. How is that even a stat.

If Jason Heyward didn't move he would have caught the ball square on the jaw. Hit him in the helmet flap.

To be fair, everybody seems to manhandle the twins come playoff time :lol

3-19 in the last 22 playoff games.

Erupt, I like showing off this record instead :lol

0-12 in the last 12 (how do you not even win one by accident at some point :x) .... The only series I left out in that post to Pro was the 2006 ALDS versus the Oakland Athletics. :{

The 2006 Twins had:

That year's MVP, Justin Morneau (sorry Yankee/Derek Jeter fans for the reminder!).
That year's Cy Young, Johan Santana.
That year's batting average leader, Joe Mauer.
Better record than the A's.
Of the teams in the AL Central and AL West, three of the four best record-wise were in the AL Central.

And what happened?

Swept. :lol

3-0. The Oakland Athletics move on and the Minnesota Twins experience a two year playoff drought. :{

Man, you can just tell everybody pitcher, ump, catcher, even Heyward, was just waiting for that ball to dip, and it just didn't.

Love that John Buck's immediate reaction was to help.

Eli... I don't know if he's intentionally trying to look like an 80s porn actor in your avy or what. :lol

Which might actually be Cooper's profession.
