One more big bat and I'd say we'd have a pretty good shot at being champs of the NL.OF away from causing damage in the NL.

Is what I heard 4 years ago keep dreaming.2 or 3 years is less than 7. Mets are at least a year or two away anyway.

Your reasoning behind him batting cleanup is because you want him to see more fastballs hitting after Cano. Your reasoning is completely flawed and incorrect. The stats you just provided dont help your side of the argument in the slightest bit, either.10 of the 17 Homeruns he hit with the Yankees were batting cleanup. You have this completely backwards dude. If you want Soriano to see fastballs, you bat him in front of Cano.Reason I have Soriano 4th is because he is a straight fastball hitter.. You place him behind guys who get hits, you have to come at him.. Big reason why he was a beast last season was hitting around Cano.
44 of 58 games were batting from the 4th spot.
NEW YORK -- The Yankees are closing in on a one-year contract with free-agent infielder Kelly Johnson, according to the New York Post.
The newspaper reported Wednesday that Johnson's contract is expected to be worth $2.75 million to $3 million. Johnson would slot in as an option at second base in the event that the Yankees are unable to re-sign free agent Robinson Cano, and could provide backup at several other positions.
Johnson, who turns 32 in February, batted .235 with a .305 on-base percentage and .410 slugging percentage in 118 games for the Rays this past season, hitting 16 home runs and driving in 52 runs.
Primarily a second baseman, the left-handed-hitting Johnson has also seen time in left field, at third base and first base. He could be used to fill in at third base if any portion of Alex Rodriguez's 211-game suspension is upheld.
The eight-year big league veteran owns a lifetime .253 batting average. He has also played with the Braves, D-backs and Blue Jays.
I feel you on, Grandy, there's just nothing else out there. I like Choo but he won't be enough to turn this club around. You ain't kidding with the 6 fb 6cf, roster has a bunch of mediocre guys.2 or 3 years is less than 7. Mets are at least a year or two away anyway.
But with a guy coming off bad hand injuries and with pretty much only one skill left? I wouldn't touch him with more than a one year deal. He really messed up not taking the Yanks QO.
Unfortunately bud, I think they're more than that I'm actually hoping I'm wrong. But that roster feels like it's stacked with 6 first basemen and 6 CF's.
They said Red Sox were major players in the Ellsbury hunt.....
keep telling yourself that. coming in 30-50 million short of what you offered doesn't mean we were actually expecting to sign the guy
yea never would've thought that lol
I don't hate the Ellsbury signing, but not in love with it either. I've just seen so many of these long contracts turn out bad I'm always a bit weary. That said, short porch in right is great for him. I would rather overpay him then way overpay for Cano. This combined with McCann makes me optimistic; two good locker room guys who should benefit from the stadium
For some reason the fact that Ellsbury is older then McCann is really weird to me.
I can hear john sterling.....ohhhh, jacoby ells-burries that one into the right field bleachers to lead off the gm..and the Yankees lead 1-0.....
According to sources the Yankees are still in on Choo
