2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

So say KD averages 55,15, and 11. Is he still just top 20 all time? Just wondering since players have preconceived ceilings before their careers are even started.

He's not going to average those numbers. Started? Durant isn't 22. It's obvious how good he's going to be. And he's obviously not going to average those numbers now. He'll never average anything close to that MVP season he had again. The highest he can average with these Warriors is 25-26.
No you said he's always just had a chance at being top 15. You can't say that unless their career is actually over.
There's no only in basketball mang

This looks bad for GS if Kd's foot acts up and he becomes injury prone like Beth Curry. They'll lose key pieces for an injury prone KD if his foot acts up. KD has a similar foot injury that injured Yao Mings career.

Like his foot acted up this year? Not valid point.

They still need a center, Thompson will just feast on the boards again if they meet in the finals
Hell , love woke up in game 7 and had a lot of rebounds

Smart to do a 2 year x player option though , if they fall with this roster , just leave

And all those wide open Harrison Barnes bricks will be taken by Durant instead.

Pau x Ray x BOOZ GOD gonna sign for the vet minimum

Lol David west probably gonna wait outside the stadium until they take him

Owners definitely gonna try get the franchise tag in the next CBA.

will that help much though? A player can only have that placed on him for one year in the NFL, correct?

Most stars don't leave after their first contract, so teams can put the franchise tag on someone and still risk losing them?

Brussard talking crazy. Lebron ain't blow a 3-1 lead to Wade then run to him. Situations are very different.

The situation are completely opposite .. What LeBron/wade/bosh did was whack....but beta boy joining a team that just beat his team after they had a 3-1 lead..and he was a big part of the reason they lost ..***** should have trouble sleeping at night

I thought for sure he was gonna run into a situation like Yao did but he was healthy this year and balled out. I think he'll be good.

How can you even think of watching SAS talk with Broussard? They're two of the worst if not the worst ESPN employees

Really don't blame Durant for leaving, there is no way Russell could sustain the level of play that he has. His decline is going to be worse than Iverson's being that he has no fundamentals to rely on. It's all athleticism for Russ and nothing else. You see dudes in the YMCA at 50 who can still shoot. And that is what you have with Curry, Klay and the rest. Good move in the long run.

.
That was a trade. This is free agency. Also, the NBA owned the Hornets at the time, so Stern had veto power.
the nba commissioner has veto power over all trades including ones where they don't own the team so that had nothing to do with it boss

kd put himself in position to win and ability to leave after one if things dont work out.
think russ is leaving regardless if kd stayed, so i doubt he has any feelings whatsoever. dude may avg a trip double

does basketball survive in okc when both leave?

 nba is taking over from NFL as a 52 week sport. The drama between bron and everybody for the last 5 years was just ending, and now durant is starting up the news cycle again. I'm rather shocked he is going to gs.

OKC bout to be stuck with an nothing. KD just ended that franchise.

5 years ago they had KD, Russ, Harden. Now they losing everything.
