Maybe brooks should have actually played the benchHell of a season for the Wizards. Beal proved to be worth every penny of the max, and I'm glad that John Wall FINALLY started getting some of the recognition (on a national-level) that he deserved. Unfortunately, what did them in was the lack of production from the bench. Inexcusable to have 5 TOTAL points from the bench in a crucial game 7. That falls solely on Ernie Grunfeld and the roster he put together. Not fair to the starters (minus, Gortat) because they more than pulled their own weight.
Anyways, Cavs in 5.
Its a dirty play regardless of who does it, two wrongs doesn't make a right. Shooters deserve a safe landing space, Point blank period.

In sports, everything is results based so i get it
The reality though is, is that in playoff series, unless one team is an overwhelming favorite, you win and lose series on the margins
If beal or Wall take game 2, we could be talking about a totally different outcome. But suh it go. One long rebound, one missed open 10 footer, one missed layup, those are the difference makers.
And I get that the wizards bench was bad and it should be a point of emphasis this summer, but if beal makes that shot to end game 2, the sentiment is a bit different with Ernie I think. On the margins
Regardless if the Wiz won they bench woulda still needed and overahul/upgrade...people been calling for it ALL season, Ernie tried to patch work it but hes not good enough of a GM to have that work outIn sports, everything is results based so i get it

Gortat & Morris really let Washington down in that 4th quarter defensively.
Gortat was just way too slow on every single action Boston was using. Couldn't contest at the rim. Completely useless on that end.
Then Morris looked like his mind was elsewhere whenever Boston had the ball.
Then he had the nerve to try to intimidate Kelly about midway thru the quarter clown
They're capped out but they'll be hard pressed to accomplish anything with Gortat at the 5.
They traded their 1st for Bobo so they gotta improve within.
Mahinmi has to get right. He is their 2nd highest paid player and was broken all year. Major defensive upgrade over Gortat when healthy.
Brooks used the bench so scarcely in game 7 it was difficult for them to have an impact, granted they weren't great all season and in the playoffs
Mahinmi: 16 min
Bogdanavic: 16 min
Jennings: 6 min
Smith: 3 min
My main issue with Brooks is his offense never gets guys easy looks. KD and Westbrook had to take turns in OKC carrying the load and essentially the same thing in Washington. He's a great bring the team together/bonding coach, but way below average when it comes to a Xs and Os. You can make the argument Brad Stevens was the difference in this series.
An update on the bracket challenge:
After round 2, @BlackIntellect is in first place, followed by @IluvJordanXI and @Bennyhinn.
Also I still haven't settled on a prize for the winner yet, so please feel free to suggest something.
Last place belongs to @leemelone and @RBK93

Ehh, most teams, if not all teams offense down the stretch look like that for the most part. Not a brooks thing
Zeke is elite man. You max him regardless of who you take. He becomes even more dangerous if Bradley takes another step AND you get a blue chip guard in this draft.
True, but most teams also don't win the chip
