It's funny to see you guys cape for Russ, but will easily rip someone like Melo for not winning. The double standard here is amazing

Let's be real, guys. Russ cannot win with his style of play. He's probably the most selfish player who seems unselfish based off his stats I've ever seen.

its funny but thinking back to my childhood, there were people with kids when i was in 9th and 10th grade and i didnt think anything of it. just wasnt a big deal. but now looking back, got damn. They were legit kids, with kids. that **** is crazy. they were out here wild'n. I used to be team raw everyday, so thanksful i never had seeds. and the one i was hella raw with. got with someone else and had a bad and engagement with him and the kid wild unattractive. i'm so glad that aint my joint.

In the last 2 decades every WC team has made a WCF except 2. CP3 lead Hornets and CP3 lead Clippers. His style of play detrimental to winning?

In this thread? Absolutely. Forget the fact that th stat includes years when Chris Paul was 14-years old. The issue is, the same people who kill him for this can now, al of a sudden, muster up the ability to prove why you can't blame Russell for his team's failures. The same reasons they ignore when hey are used for other players. They post press conference pictures instead

I honestly wonder which players out there are thinking that they want to make a move to get to OKC to play with Russ

To be fair, I think Russ can get shooters great looks. He got Roberson and Vic several last night and they didn't hit anything, especially Roberson who missed all his 3's which were wide open. So maybe good shooters would come..

Other than shooters, I wonder if other great players would want to join him

You hit the nail on the head. Shooters? Yes, they'd love to play for Russ, but another star scorer? No way. It just won't ever work with Russ. Harden had the same reputation as well. A lot of his teammates complained about not enjoying playing with Harden, until MDA came they moved the ball a lot more. But Harden still doesn't have a star #2 scorer on the team. And he doesn't need it. Houston works fine the way they are. Put him 3 and D guys with some shooters and you got the Rockets winning formula.

Maybe that's the model OKC needs to employ. Just surround Russ with sharpshooters and have him run around the same way Harden does.

Harden is an amazing playmaker, you're selling him way short.  His court vision is special.

I think JJ Redick would be a great fit in OKC if he doesn't stay in LA. Would like to see him there or New Orleans. Two teams that desperately need a shooter of his caliber.

No, I'm not selling him short at all. He is a GREAT playmaker, but that didn't happen until MDA came into the picture. You don't think Russ can do the same if he had a few 3 and D guys in the starting lineup, a rebounding specialist, and another sharpshooter playing with him at the same time?

Oh, wait...

Russ as your best player is going to get you around 45 wins....and a first round exit.

Russ lucky the bottom fell out of the west. Because in the western conference of a few years ago.....this wouldn't be good enough to get you in the playoffs. Maybe an 8 seed.

lol

In all seriousness I do think Russ could be a very good playmaker if he committed to it.  He doesn't have zero natural court vision like a Derrick Rose.  He's just very stubborn in falling back on bad habits.

But I don't think he'd ever be as good as James Harden, Harden's BBIQ on offense is tip-top level.

Harden's was a great playmaker with OKC. Mchale ineptness was the biggest issue. The system was basically James bail is out.

Maybe I'm wrong though, maybe D'Antoni could make Russ into the ultimate PG.  That would be something to see.

Nash was a primarily a shooter/scorer in Dallas, people forget that.
