I only drink soda when I'm mixing it with liquor.

Never mix the liquor.
Straight and Neat... no Chester.

I never mix whiskey, rum, or cognac.

I can't drink vodka straight though.

Acceptable for sure then.
I don't drink Vodka, But understand the choice to mix.

Either you get a high alcohol content one that tastes like pine cones, or you gotta drink 10+ low quality ones too feel a buzz but then you're feeling bloated and pissing all day. I only drink them now when I'm already drunk. It has it's place though in beer pong.
