2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

Supposedly the pick we'll be getting is a future 1st rounder with multiple conditions/protections.

Any more details on the pick?

Grant has hustled the last two years but he's just not a good player. It's a salary dump for OKC and brings the Sixers a first rounder. Hinkie will be proud.

The full details are out. Im lazy but i think i read that it will likely convey in 2020 as its top 20 protected that year. If it doesnt convey itll be two 2nd round picks.

I like the trade, Grant is nothing more than a role player

Cool. thanks man!

And yeah, I think both parties are coming out of this happy.

Man...I hope we land the #1 pick this year. Watching Fultz play is a thing of beauty. Which is why the Kings trading Gay and Cuz to rebuild has become important since we switch their pick if they have a better pick.

I was worried about the Pelicans but getting Jrue and Evans back will help their record.
Lakers are killing it with Luke Walton and almost guarantee a pick lower than 4 which should fall to us.
Dallas looks to be a threat to land the top pick but they should pick up the slack once Dirk comes back.

I like our odds this year.

Dude is for sure nice as hell and would be a PERFECT fit with Simmons and Embiid. My second pick if we couldn't get him would be Jayson Tatum, who would also be a great fit with his shooting next to Simmons and Embiid. Malik Monk would also be an amazing fit with the Lakers pick.

The whole Process will finally be coming to fruition after this draft :hat

I can't do covington any more. Like Timothe may be a bum but her can't be any worse than covington. Heck Id even rather have stauskas start over covington

Nah TLC ain't a bum he's just raw. Prolly should've stashed him overseas for a year or 2 like we're doing with Korkmaz

Team is coming together. Embiid an absolute star in the making barring injury as always.

Like yall said, after this offseason, with a healthy simmons and embiid.... one top 5 pick and possibly another lottery pick with money to spend on FAs....gonna be a squad.

Want to get a resolution to the Noel situation and see what comes of it

Embiid is a star, the biggest separation I see with him and Oak is that Embiid hustles every single play. Even when he messes up he's hard on himself. Oak gives the the half ***** vibe. His body language and effort is totally different.

Man...Rodrigues is exactly the PG this team needs. He's so much fun to watch and so smart with the ball and plays with flare. I absolutely love his game and hope he remains a starter all season.

It's strange, Covington seemed to drop a few IQs this season while Stauskas is balling out. If this continues, Hot Sauce will eventually get the starting spot.

TLC should get assigned to the D-league this year.

Dario is awesome.

Elyasova is a bright spot at the stretch 4. When he and Rodriguez are on the floor, I feel like they are playing winning basketball.

If we do trade Noel, it should be for a solid wing and/or picks or a combo guard. I think our PG situation is fine with Rod + Bayless when he hets healthy. Not to mention Simmons might see some PG play.

Aside from the customary 4th quarter meltdowns we've been great to watch.

Stauskas has been ballin.

And Bayless is finally healthy. Although, he was very rusty last night. I hope he takes away from Mcconnel's minutes and not Rodriguez.

On another note, I reaaally like Oak coming off the bench. I don't think any team can win having him as a corner stone but he's been so good off the bench feasting on the other bigs.

Oak also seems pretty happy where he is right now. Someone will eventually pay him and offer him a started gig but we should be in no hurry to trade him if he keeps this up.

Noel is definitely the one to go.

Here are my hopeful trade scenarios:

Trade 1: Noel + picks for CJ McCollum

Blazers are basically what everyone expected them to be last year. They vastly overachieved and paid the price by paying over 200 mil for a core that won't get you anywhere. They need to reset to re-building mode and McCollum's skillset is redundant to Dame. They are in dire need of a defensive presence and Noel will be a DPOY candidate for years to come. Dame and Noel on the pick and roll will be awesome. Plumlee and Leonard will also work well with Noel.

In my biased head, this makes too much sense for both teams (except if we end up drafting Fultz, but I am not betting on the unknown + we won 4 straight at home :lol )

Trade 2: Noel for Knight + Picks

Not as attractive as the first scenario but still good for both teams. Tyson chandler is old and expendable. Alex Len is alright but won't take you very far. We have too many bigs, they have too many PGs. This will also workout best for both teams.

I don't think the Blazers would do that. The talent tradeoff is too wide. Half the reason they even hang in some of these games is because CJ can light it up alongside Dame.

Unless Noel can trend up, defensively, from his rookie year and really be worth it, I don't see it.

I honestly have lost so much perspective on what his game actually is. Rookie year was a smash, but Okafor's presence I think hampered his development last year and with the surgery taking him away from the early parts of this year I completely forgot what he used to be.

I still like Noel as a player and I'll root for his success wherever he goes, but I just hope he can still be something special for someone.

As for Oak, he's definitely a very relaxed individual, on court and off. I can see him being very complacent with whatever happens to him. He knows he's got the talent to put up 20pts a night for the right team and he'll get paid somewhere else and with Embiid being the focal point now, the attention and pressure has shifted and I think he enjoys that.

Jah definitely has to go someplace where he'll play second fiddle. Like Dwight. He can ball, he just can't lead.

I think the majority of people have lost perspective on what Noel can bring to the table. Last year's experiment and this year's injury really hurt him. That's what makes him one of the more underrated players today. If he goes to a place where he could start, people will realize the value he brings.

And yeah, Jah tends to hover a lot at the perimeter. He gets lost sometimes on defense and doesn't hustle as much as he should.

I've also noticed that his offense this year have become a lot more predictable. For a guy who should have a plethora of combos, his game became lited to spin moves. For a guy his size, he should be able to use his strength and back down people, go for hook shots and add more to his offensive repertoire, at least on a way to add some more pressure on the D.

If his game is as it is today and won't improve much...I don't mind him leading the second unit as I think that's the best fit for what he provides.

Just sucks since we couldve had Porzingis smh

just imagining him next to Embiid makes me pissed

Could have been the best big man duo since Duncan and Robinson.

But then again, we might not have tanked for Simmons so let's look ahead!

Same here...but Noel wants out and is an unrestricted free agent.

Jah seems content and I like his fit as sixth man.
