2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

I settled down since we first picked Hackenberg & realized i have no choice but to root for him. :lol He actually played better in Bill O'Brien's pro style offense his freshman year than the gimmicky offense. Obviously Macc, Bowles, & the scouts saw something in him we didn't.

I have no clue what's going on with Mo. He hasn't signed his franchise tender yet so hopefully we get a deal done.

At what point do the jets give up on fitz? They still seem optimistic they can get him in there possibly

Gonna be sick.

Hack still throwing some wild ones out there.

Will make an effortless 40 yrd pass with ease, and will overthrow a 6'2 WR with no defenders shortly after.

I don't like the Hack pick. We could've gotten a starting guard or tackle with that pick. People just forgot about Petty altogether. So in guessing he was just a wasted 4 round pick plus what they traded up to get him. Kid looked solid last preseason too. I loved this draft as a whole but there were 2 moves that I didn't like.

Tom Hacket vs Lachlan Edwards is going to the the story of the summer :lol

What was the other disliked pick?

The other move I disliked was trading a 4th rounder for a 5th round o-lineman. That just made NO sense to me, especially when you could of put together a package in the second round to get Spriggs, a starting RT, that was take 3 picks ahead of us. SMH.

to be fair we're getting a compensatory 4th rounder next year for losing Demario Davis iirc.

I get that but why pass up using that 4th to move up and get Spriggs, hell from the reports that have surfaced if they would've given up a 4th in the trade for the Giants we would've gotten Tunsil. Clearly Mac knew we needed an upgrade at RT/future LT. As I said, Winters in *** and everyone knows it! Why wasn't Whitehair drafted?! I love EVERY OTHER MOVE Mac made in this draft though. I just can't wrap my head around Hack and the trade in the 5th.

Brandon Marshall when asked if he was concerned about the Jets' current QB situation: “No, not at all. Not at all. Even if Fitz didn’t come back, Geno Smith is more than ready. What people don’t understand about Geno is, he’s super-competitive and he takes things personal in a good way. In the past, I noticed there were some things he may not have channeled the right way, but now he’s really using it as fuel to push him to be better in areas that he’s already good at. He’s a professional now. I don’t know if that’s always been the case. So there’s no doubt in my mind that when this kid gets a shot, he’ll be ready and he’ll take advantage of it.”

So when do ya guys think Mike Macc should cut ties with trying to bring back Fitz?

June 1st looks like a good deadline. 2 weeks before OTA's begin and while it will be unfortunate, Geno will have that time to truly begin to prep with his new LT, RBs, and the rest of the offense.

Just read players signed after May 12th won't count towards compensatory picks received.

Maybe they reached a deal but are waiting a couple days so we get an extra pick. 8o
