For the 91 pair, YES!!!
The 2000 tried to recreate the look. Those weren’t an all durabuck shoe that eventually had ONLY the heel lighten over time. It sounds to me like you never noticed the detail if you actually had them, and now you don’t remember.

The 2000 didnt try to recreate anything

All I know is that original that had durabuck material, the leathery shine on the heel occur (5,6,7,8,9)

That same leathery shine occur on the heels of the 2000 Metallic 5, 2002 black/true red 7 and infrared 6 and it will occur on the DMP 6, 07 Metalics, citrus 7, Carolina 5s, 2002 chrome 6 etc.

Not as extreme as the OGs though

Perhaps ones made in Korea were different than the ones made in Taiwan or something

You chose photos with angles that didn’t show the smooth and shiny look. I hope you’re not in school to be a lawyer, because you wouldn’t be very good at it

In the third set you can clearly see the shiny leather taking its toll, compare to the second set where it still has the durabuck texture

Not material wise. Different production locations typically results in variation of mold, leather cuts or even colorshades. Not the materials

When durabuck ages or is worn the below happens.
Explaining the shiny look on the toebox of a pair of 2002 chrome 6 I owned before

The durabuck on my pair have the same shiny leather look to them. Mine aren't D's. I would clean these after every wear. Maybe to much lol. I think it's pretty close to what the og 6 had going on. I think that's what someone a few pages back may have been trying to say. I bet these were sprayed with water repellent a dozen times.

I’m not sure how’ve we’ll preserved that’s pair is, but there are countless DS untouched or cleaned pairs that aren’t shiny like that.

Even if they pair you posted is shiny, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the 91 pair was shiny IN 91, and not some recent effect of age. I’d like to think you have more intelligence than Sak who ignored my posts from 1991.

Just because you have googled and researched more than others in here, doesn't make you the end all of material expertise. Do you know what your talking about? Yes, you do. But no one is ignorant for simply countering an observation of yours. My pair is worn and the durabuck shine to me on my pair is a result of overuse of water repellant. Could I be wrong, yeah. And if I am, then cool. Questioning peoples intelligence is not. There are several pics you posted to prove your point. Awesome. The 91 original had a shine that no other pair had. The 7s come close. At least my pair does for whatever reason. The DS pairs you posted look very different then mine do. Ive seen all your pics of the 91s.
