2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

Do you think it's because of his load in Charlotte? He came into Boston as the Anti-Kyrie having played 81, 79, 80 and 82 games in each of the four seasons, respectively, with pretty high usage. Then last year he was banged up. What are they doing in Boston to these point guards, man

Yeah I think it's just a combination of his usage and style. Hard cuts, stopping on a dime, hard jumper. That's really not good for the knees in the long term. DRose had the same style and issues. Look at football receivers who have that same style of play. They usually put a lot of wear and tear on their knees.

It's okay though. Kemba can rest well knowing Gary Payton Pritchard has his back.

Kemba out until January due to a stem-cell injection in his left knee in October. :smh:

That's a really good comparison with Drose, the only difference is that DRose goes two gears higher and also jumps high and often with horrible landing habits.

But yeah, his cuts, stopping on a dime, and crossovers do put a lot of pressure on his knees and you can clearly see it.

That term was getting tossed around like crazy. They were saying Draymond and Kawhi could too then PGs went out their way to torch them

Dudes being able to guard 1-5 always been cap.

Even guys like Giannis, Ken Simmons, Kawhi, Heatles Bron...

They can guard 3 or 4 positions effectively and then they need favourable match ups. That or it’s for short stretcthes.... Bron guarding D-Rose in the 4th quarter etc.

Bron was expected to be the GOAT and he is only going to end up Top 3. He’s getting a Meet Some Expectations on his performance evaluation.

In all seriousness, last time we had this debate there were folks in here saying that he was an athletic freak of nature eem as a kid and had the best basketball resources available to him since he was 12/13 so he didn’t defy the odds.

Matter of fact, it was Freeze and Jason Whitlock

I'd still like to know what happened to Kemba in the bubble. Ainge hinted something wasn't right but never elaborated. Nursing injury? Mental? Personal, family matter? Walker had an exploitable matchup in Miami and he never fully showed up offensively. This team goes as far as Tatum and Jaylen take them, but Boston needs Kemba to be that third star if they wanna beat the Heat, Bucks, Sixers & Raptors.

Boston needs a PG that can take the ball out of Tatums hands more. Tatum is better when he’s downhill or in catch and go situations. Tatums playmaking ability isn’t there yet. He goes IG vid mode whenever he feels they “need” a bucket which usually results in a some sort of side step, step back long two or three point attempt. Kemba looked like something was wrong in the bubble. He uses he legs a lot on his jumpers and everything seemed “flat”. That would explain why he was having issues finishing at the rim also.

if my guy Zo could shoot more consistently, he’d be the perfect fit along side Tatum and Brown.

Just look at his Stepback game winner when he was in Uconn that had a lot of pressure on his joints

He had an injured knee. Hence why he got a stem cell injection

He still killed Philly in the first round, Toronto switched to a box and one on him solely to try to limit his effectiveness, and then Miami played a ton of zone which limited his ability to play PnR and the rest of the team just couldn't beat it.

Given the season starts around Christmas, he probably won't actually miss a ton of games. But yes, they aren't going to do much come playoff time if Kemba isn't going to be able to give them 20ish a night. That's obviously a given.
