Not slandering them. All things considered, they are probably the best hybrids Nike had done. I think they are too high cut but that's about my only issue with the designChill no zoom rookie slander tolerated
But they are not touching the Penny 2 IMO, not even close
Nike's reboot of the line was not great but decent to me. The hybrids were ok, better than Jordans, the 5s and 6s could have been decent but they should have leaned into the late 90s design language more.
-Also, if Nike had made the Garnett 3s the Penny 5s like originally planned, I don't there is any sig athlete outside of Jordan could touch Penny's original run of sigs.

Nike def would make more off signature athlete sneakers. They're focus has shifted more towards lifestyle.

My favorite recent Nike story is Bron bragging about wanting to sign Luka to his own personal brand within Nike.
From Nike putting Luka with JB, it was clear Nike told Lebron to miss them with that Bron Brand BS.

I had no idea.
Avar designed the upper, but was not done designing the sole. Penny's return from injury showed his fame and play had died down, so Nike wanted him on JB.
Penny said no, so he went on to just play in regular Nikes from them on. Then another designer finished the design, and they gave it to Garnett.
The original prototype looks a bit more like the Garnet 3s than one came out too...
