was still 10 guys without parsons there. Plus there’s always teams willing to take a chance on parsons based on talent alone.

I have zero clue what really to expect with parsons given what supposedly happened

also curious to see how things play out with 2 bama wrs, chase and pitts

but I assume market puts QBs at top, all of em

I feel 4 QBs in the top 15, 3 with the first 3 picks.

Those position players going after them and then the two OTs in there.

I assume the 4 QBs go top 5.. I assume panthers, lions and couple other teams could move up with either y’all or cincy, maybe Atlanta too

also think trading back is an option for us at 6 too depending on the offer to move up.. or we’re just blowing smoke about not taking a QB

Yea, I could absolutely see that.

Could also factor in the 49ers if they give up quite a bit to jump to 4. Atlanta could take a successor.

Going to be a wild draft. I’m expecting to see some huge trade hauls.

You left out Seattle

while I am happy for dak..

cowboys were 1 special teams brain fart away from being 0-4 with dak before he got hurt

Chiefs were pretty far over the cap if I remember correctly. Money move releasing them.

woulda thought they woulda made other moves though, like restructuring frank honey badger, frank Clark and Chris Jones who both got huge cap hits

could even restructure kelce and tyreek.. hitchens also got a decent enough cap hit, thought they would look at cutting him before schwartz

all the more reason drafting a RB didn’t make a ton of sense

Saves $18.3 million of dead cap space by releasing two guys over their 30s coming off of Achilles and back surgery. The NFL is a cruel business but this was the right move. Offensive lineman help just became priority 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

To follow up on IATT IATT

Before this move the Chiefs had a cap deifict of $21.2 million so just by releasing both tackles that almost cleans it up. Immediately they will probably use that money to extend Tyrann. More than likely they will do some restructuring to Jones and Mahomes deals to free up cap space through roster and bonuses. Ideally the Chiefs would love to restructure Hitchens deal because even if they cut him he still carries like $8 million in dead cap space.

IMO, the jury is still out on CEH. Feels like he could have been available in a later round but it also doesn't hurt to throw a bone to your franchise QB either, lol.

I get fisher, but I don’t really get schwartz

IMO, Schwartz injury was worse than what he was letting on plus as an offensive lineman when your back is done your career is about over. I've heard that surgery is your last option because even if you 'correct' your issue with surgery one tweak and you are right back where you started. I had heard whispers that some felt this injury was career ending but they were holding out hope that rest and rehab would have ready for the Super Bowl.

my thing is with them taking a RB, they knew the turnover was coming with the WRs.. they run a shh ton of 11, they could have taken a guy and then have him ready to go with tyreek and now hardman.. plus in the 2nd round you had couple rbs available (Jonathan Taylor, Antonio Gibson and jk dobbins)

I mean hindsight is 20/20. Hell, if that was the case then the Chiefs should have drafted DK over Hardman but I get what you are saying and don't disagree with the logic. IMO, I wouldn't have drafted CeH at that spot either especially with the way they used him in the overall offensive. I do believe that year 2 will really be the deciding year on if this was a bad move or not.

yea.. I mean with hindsight, they shoulda been looking at oline

but just assumed the plan was always to move on from Sammy and Robinson, that’s why I said WR.. hardman steps into 1 of the spots and then they develop the 3rd guy

No way they were gonna draft another WR.

why not?

you run a lot of 11 in a heavy passing offense, RBs are for the most part pretty replaceable and getable

you paid tyreek and kelce.. hardman is on his 2nd round deal.. and then youre 3rd guy is locked in at late first round pick money for 4 years and you decide what you want to do on 5th year, since extension probably cuts down that option cap hit number

given what WRs make now, having a guy locked in for couple years under 5 mill per seems like a good option
