This **** is crazy. McNair really might have orchestrated all of this.

My best guess is that they know the Texans need to trade him, and this is their attempt to sell to the public that he is a bad guy, and they HAVE to trade him now even though they wanted to keep him. Its their attempt to flip the script and control the story. Now they "have to" trade him because he is a sexual abuser. A way to save face if you will.

This is nuts.

but then you potentially hurt his market

if that’s your goal, that’s some BS you pull after he gets moved.. but this just seems odd, as elpablo21 elpablo21 pointed out

just do what a bunch of other teams do, leak the dumb shh to reporters and just hope those stories get more traction than whenever the truth comes out down the road

If McNair and company pulled some stuff like that. They’re dumb as can be. Well they already are dumb. But aside from lowering his value trade wise, if the feeling inside the NFL circle is that they indeed did try something like that, it’s just going to hurt them in terms of getting players to want to play there. How they ultimately handle this Deshaun Watson situation is going to be telling and could have an impact on them landing players in the future. Unless they significantly overpay, that’s not going to be a desirable destination.

They’ve already been dealing with the negative publicity from trading Hopkins, JJ Watt got so fed up he wanted out, Watson wants out. That’s all football stuff. But potentially trying to sabotage your star qb’s name out spite because he wants out. That’s some next level stuff right there.

If they were smart, they would just cut their losses and try to get the best possible haul for Watson and try to repair the toxic environment and self inflicted damage within the organization. Seems like their problems go beyond football though. Bob McNair made that stupid inmates running the asylum comment before he passed and it seems like the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with his son.

If anybody thinks dopey tone deaf Chris Farley in Tommy Boy Cal McNair could devise a plan like this, I have a time share to sell you. Look at the guy’s face, the only calculated decision he knows how to make is what he’ll have for dinner.

Lol for real. I don’t know if you listen to ESPN radio here in Houston but the morning show consistently bashes the Texans and front office.

They played a Sage Rosenthal clip from the radio station he works for one morning. Guys he was working with were asking about Cal and what he’s like. He didn’t really run into him much but when he was backing up David Carr, at the end of his time here, saw him coming out of Cal’s office and asked him what he’s like. He said Cal was sitting on the floor, in an office with no furniture, just a TV and gaming system playing video games. Care said it blew him away lol. Cal was in his mid 40s at that time. Grown man, sitting on the floor like a kid playing lol.

That’s a **** load of money to pay linemen but if it makes our line not suck for the next half decade I’m all for it

I'm still at a loss as to why Jamaal Williams openly chose to sign with Detroit when he had interest from KC & Buffalo.
Is he from Michigan or something? Baffling move IMO.
