I mean, I been thought by time we got to the draft that QBs would go 1-4

but it’s wild to me that mac Jones is going over 2 of those guys and in the top 5

like I assumed this was like a matt leinart type deal

Why are we surprised that Mac Jones got an invite to the NFL draft again? Was there any doubt he wasn’t getting selected in the first round even before the 49ers hype?

Used sparingly first few seasons, but stepped up last season with Barr going down. Agreed he's a good player and getting him on a 1-year, he's still hungry.

I'm just intrigued to specifically know who though. As much as things leak out Mac wasn't linked to anybody. I didn't see anything with ATL, Carolina, Denver, not one team.

The Mac talk didn't even spark until the Simms tweet.

I think the highest I saw him before the trade was the Pats in a mock.

I still ultimately think Fields or Lance is #3 but we'll see

I think it could be as simple as they felt strong enough with 3 or 4 of the QBs in this draft, knowing they'd get 1. Apparently, Shanahan won't even let his assistants in on his notes and such, so unless Lynch has final say and is stepping outside the organization, it's gonna be a mystery until draft day.

if fields go top 3 im not opposed to sitting at 15 or maybe trading a little up for lance

but if it really goes t law, wilson and then mac jones...i would be furious if we didnt give up the ransom for fields.

i'm totally fine trading up for Lance if that's an option. i know Bill has not been himself this offseason so maybe he will but i don't see it happening. hope i'm wrong tho. and not sold on the Niners taking Jones, either

i think his plan was to move up the whole time as long as the price was somewhat within reason.

he addressed ALOT of needs in free agency that make those picks expendable.

I can't see Bill drafting a quarterback in the first, let alone trading up for one. Don't know what his near-term plans are in regards to how long he wants to stay HC, but he seems like someone who is gonna play the vet carousel until something close to a contending team seems feasible or possibly find a gem in later rounds that develops quickly.
