I said it in the Lakers thread that Kyrie should have tried to get a max with one of the teams who had money like Orlando and then demanded a trade as soon as the ink dried. Or play a year there with his new deal and then bounce.

That's pretty much what Durant did. He got his max extension and requested a trade.
