Absolutely. He’s most likely going to be viewed negatively moving forward for that albatross contract if he gets hurt or doesn’t make an all star team.
And if he doesn’t play up to that contract, it will be very hard to trade but he’s making money. DC’s shooting them selves on the foot but it’s not Beals fault.
The fanbase will treat him similar his Philly treats Tobias. If he’s ok with that, then cool.
