Thunder should just be good neighbors and donate a pick or 2. Wouldn't even disrupt their haul.

Nets completely botched this.
Between the injuries, Kyrie being a part time player, and trading for Harden, this will go down as one of the biggest what ifs in recent history.

It's glaring that team needed 1 or 2 more pieces.

Don't recall the contract status of Lavert, Allen and Spencer at the time but would have it even been possible to keep all of them (including Harris)? Always easy to say this type of stuff

Lavert signed 3 years/$52
Harris signed 4 years/$75
Allen signed 5 years/$100
Spencer signed 3 years/$54

For the youngins that might not realize for the few loyal Nets fans.....although this is a crappy and bad situation and deserves the mocking it will get from all NBA fans including the Knicks, once you sit through having season tickets in NJ the year they had a starting five of Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Bobby Simmons, YI Jianlian, and second season Brook Lopez, winning 12 games, you really are immune to any of this and just the shock of even having KD and Irving (Harden) here in first place makes none of this surprising nor less disappointing. haha

Dinwiddie PROBABLY would have always been a casualty....Levert and Allen were all doable under cap especially with them adding Harden. Joe Tsai would have been paying the harden money practically for levert and allen combined. Harris probably would have had bird rights as well. so as long as Joe did not mind paying the tax, he could have and still add all the buyout guys on minimum deals

Dejounte and Kawhi really only played like 40 games together, smh. Team is a mess.

We could’ve had to elite defenders and just building blocks around them, I hate Tony Parker and Manu. The whole organization

The one glaring mistake if anything was choosing DJ over Jarrett Allen. If keeping Allen was at all possible, he would have been the perfect fit for them

Spencer and Lavert aren't anything worth crying over

And this all started.......with KD and Kyrie playing hardball with Kenny Atkinson and management over DeAndre Jordan. They lost Kenny, then Vaughn put Jordan in Starting 5.....
Next season they traded for Harden and added Aldridge and Griffin and Jordan no longer even fit in team chemistry.....
Allen has become like most Nets fans saw a pretty good Center and Levert would have been serviceable player with KD and Kyrie....they did not want to help develop guys into roles. Dinwiddie also wanted to stay.....he wanted the 2 guard spot or sixth man, believe Kyrie was undone having someone behind him that could carry the load of offense if he was not around (which conveniently enough, he was not around anyway)

Not sure, but I think it was possible.
I'd emphasize the injuries & time missed over salary cap though.
Between KD, Harris, Spencer, Caris, & Kyrie missing significant time, it's looking like it just wasn't meant to be.

If Kyrie signs with the Lakers, will this second iteration of the Lakers superteam be able to win a chip?

The Nets allowed Kyrie and KD to run their franchise. The only way they can "take control of their franchise" is to blow it up. They forced them to trade all their depth, hire their buddy as the coach and it became a disaster.

I just don’t understand why we trading Murray, like we really doing full tank mode. I hate this part of rebuilding. Guess we all in on Primo now.
