Feel the lack of player backlash this time saved Sarver from the league bringing the hammer down like they did with Sterling.

You had high profile coaches and players speaking out back then, ironically enough CP was in the thick of things threatening to sit out

No video or audio of sarver. No pressure from sponsors. Thus no action.

I will add that the NBA wanted no parts of the ultimate litigation that would've happened when Sarver sued. They wouldn't want Sarver's lawyers bringing in the receipts of other owners and the things they've done and said. To be honest, the Donald Sterling situation was the perfect storm for the NBA. The media pressure wasn't nearly as effective as a scorned wife that wanted to hurt Don in the best way she could for cheating and dragging it out in the open. Don's wife was also the owner of the team so all she did was say he had dementia then sold the team. Protests and sit outs wouldn't impact Sarver.

Silver was gifted the Sterling situation on a silver platter and got props for handling it in the only way possible. His tenure has been average overall.
