Herb Jones raised the Pels ceiling so much. They should be a top 3 seed next season.

Nets winning tonight btw. Geehh-Runnnn-Teeeeee

it was a pipe dream that the young socialite would play in game 4 of a playoff series after not playing all year. Dude is no where near game shape let alone playoffs even without the "injury."

Please be at the game tonight baby

Which is why it was silly for everyone involved to even float the idea. It's like they alley-ooped a topic for the media and internet to run w/. When it was apparent he wasn't going to return for the last stretch of the regular season he should have been shut down.

The idea that Ben (or Zion, Murray, Porter to a lesser extent since they're familiar w/ their teams) should make his debut on a new team in the playoffs has always been insane to me. 10-15 minutes for what?

I saw that live when he said it last night, and he also said something to the effect of "We were being aggressive, so we can't say that," something like that. And I thought "Yes we can say that." The Pelicans were being entirely more aggressive on offense and more disciplined on defense. Like that's just what happened.

a jumpshooting, dirty defensive team not having as many free throws as their opponents?

you dont say
All you have to say is the home team gets the benefit of the calls in the playoffs. Suns attacked the rim pels were allowed to be really physical.

Are we really saying One of the best defensive teams in the league the last 2 seasons and has a finals visit is not as disciplined as a team that hasnt been here before?

What? God no  you don’t trade a Zion level asset unless he demands it
usually I would agree - dude is awesome but he's played 85 games in 3 seasons and there have already been rumblings he wants out anyways in New Orleans so that's why. It's a risk either way - either dude is Greg Oden and never plays or lives up to his total potential or you trade him and it blows up in NO's face but I think the player to build around is BI and not Zion.

Would Nets be in this position if they never made the Harden/Simmons trade?
It’s very possible they are still down to the Celtics because that team is just too flawed. With harden they aren’t on the brink of being swept though.

But that's not what we said. That's your interpretation.

No. Again, that's your spin, your interpretation.

No, please change. Misinterpretations ain't it.

been wondering if New Orleans should sell high on Zion - they have a decent young core and can only get better with whatever assets they get from a Zion trade.
I don't know that there's any current scenario where you're selling high on a guy that hasn't played 90 games in three years, with his body type AND dealing with foot issues along with other nagging injury issues.

In theory, though, I don't disagree with the idea they need to be proactively thinking about what to do here. Because I don't believe he's bought into being there and I don't believe he's ever going to be healthy consistently.

I'm about to net basically zero from his rookie deal, and I'm not running out any ground balls with questions around whether or not he's going to turn down my max dollars and steals all leverage by forcing me into unrestricted territory off that qualifying offer.

The team prob should’ve shut him down before the playoffs even started. Idk who’s idea it was to have him play this series

You counting on Zion hitting them with damn near +20 wins?

Tough.

I’m banking on Herb getting better
Zion playing
Ingram at least not regressing.
CJ for a full season
“Playoff experience”

50 wins next year. Maybe that isn’t good enough for a top 3 seed but I think (hope) they’ll be really good.

I mean harden obviously didn’t want to be there so who’s to say he would even be invested. And he’s not exactly what he was in the past. Celtics still winning
