They have no choice. They have to trade him and he decides where he wants to go. Unless the Marlins or the other team can convince him to waive his NTC for them, the Marlins are screwed.

Marlins def losing on this trade. They could choose to keep him into spring training and waiting till the deadline to make a move but let’s be honest the offers won’t be any better at that time. They goofed by giving him the no trade clause.
