I mean, he's really good. But already?! lol

A big W for the Rays

About $18.5 mill AAV

If the Rays didn't offer him a long term contract, Franco will likely sign with a different team after his sixth year. The Rays cannot afford to keep him unless they get a different owner who can spend a lot of money

So the Rays will be paying him $18.5 mill AAV for next 12 years where Franco will hit the FA market at 32 years old. Insane, that's a steal for the Rays

Considering the new CBA could be worked out, the entire premise of the current system could be demolished and Franco could have made a killing in an open market in __ number of years. HUGE win for the Rays, at not hardly any risk. 18 Mil AAV in a couple years will be middle relievers.

Rays got the better end of that deal for sure, but it's life-changing money so I understand Franco taking it. People are saying Rays finally keeping someone long term, but that contract will remain one of the most tradeable contracts out there and ensures control beyond the original six years if the Rays choose to hang on. If not, then they'll be trading him during his prime and still would get a haul if he maintains his progress..

What’s the point of tweeting that if he doesn’t @ the agent? I would’ve respected tf out of him, despite it killing professional relationships LOL!
