2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

These agents finessing their players
Most Pre-Arb deals like that a very back loaded like that. Kris Bryant had the record for pre-arbitration contract at like 1.1 million. So he will double that in his final year before arbitration. So when he would be a free agents, he’s getting the $25 a year. Somewhat closer to what he would make. Granted still not what he could get on the open market but make more in the front end.

Mets apparently not done on pitching.

Rodon, Manaea and Kikuchi on their radar.

Yankees eyeing Andrelton Simmons.

Tigers offered a 6 year contract but less AAV than Mets’ 5-year contract offer

Wishing Baez the best of luck

EYE remember when news broke and it was getting ****ted on as being bad contract lol "Overpaid nonsense"

2 years later here we are

 no one with reason thought Harper getting paid $26M a year was ridiculous. People did question the years on that deal, and we’ll see how that ends up cause his back isn’t getting any healthier.

I definitely thought it was an overpay as far as years. 13 years was wild. But he's been balling the past couple seasons.

Boras gets a lot of crap, rightfully so, but Correa's predicament shows why agents matter. He was a sure shot to get $375M/10 years, with teams lining up to give it to him, but now down to only 1-2 teams? I still don't think he gets less AAV than Seager but who else will give him 10 years with $35M+ ?
