24 isnt that small of a sample size when we're talking 1129 as the total number of WS

In World Series history, 24 teams prior to 2024 went up three games to none, and 21 of them completed the sweep with a win in Game 4. The last team to force a Game 5 when down 3-0 in the World Series was the Reds in 1970 against the Orioles.

Since adopting the best of 7 format its only happened twice, the other team was the 1937 New York Giants. Even forcing a Game 6 would be uncharted territory for any team trying to pull off the unimaginable.

It was definitely a dirtball move, but Mookie himself trivialized the whole situation because Mook is a class act so it's kind of whatever at this point.
