I was flipping through channels last night and saw this piece on FS1 on Jim Abbott. It was halfway through, so recorded the next showing. It's called Set Apart: The Jim Abbott Story
Just watched in full...pretty good. I was always amazed by him, so it was cool to watch a short doc on his early years and such and the inspiration of it all.

I have a small beef with the scoring. Wins being 10 and losses being -5. Never been a fan of wins as a stat only because you can pitch a no hitter and still lose. Or pitch a complete dud and still get a win. I've never liked the stat in baseball period. 10 and -5 for wins and losses respectively seems hefty. In my other leagues we've completely eliminated those categories. Saves seems a little steep at 10 too, IMO just looking at the values of all the other categories. You can pitch a complete game and only get 3 points (plus the other stacked categories) but pitch 0.1 innings, get the save and earn 10 points.Just thought it's something we could all talk about.

Yeah that’s a legitimate issue and I’m in favor of changing it if people prefer that. We could go the QS route instead of wins and losses especially since wins are meaningless. And how much should saves be?

Only losing 1 point for a hard luck loss evens things out a bit. Scherzer finished with a solid 25 points yesterday despite the loss.
