- mike has put his trust in a handful of players to go on and try to win games. Nate is not one of them, it is not a case of picking out the smallest guy(literally) and being a bully. We don't know what goes on, and for now...Mike has my trust in making the correct decisions. That's what a coach issupposed to do.

Goodwin shoulda found him a suitor this summer.

but, he does need to be moved soon...don't let it linger if you're not gona play him. Would like to see if anyone will take Jared with him, so it mayneed to be waited out a little longer.

Nate's a talented guy that will land on his feet somewhere. Hope he does well, but it just isn't working here.

What seems like an agenda or vendetta on D'Antoni's part to exclude/shun Nate from being a part of the team has run its course. Who knows what went onbehind the cameras, at practice or in the lockeroom, but I really can't imagine it was very different from other years that Nate has been with the Knicks.

Nate did his part on the court and has tried to be as exemplary a player as possible on the bench. You couldn't ask much more from him. He definitelydeserves better than the treatment he's gotten from this guy.

To me, ignoring a player, making him feel completely obsolete and even invisible like D'Antoni has done is messing with that man's career and whateverfuture he might have with other teams. Furthermore, ignoring the public and fans and not answering questions about the situation from the press has, in myeyes, shown how much of a weasel D'Antoni is.

I mean we're winning games, i cant blame him. i dont see how nate could honestly hurt us though. okay maybe i sort of do, but he still doesnt deserve this.its not the first time Mike's done this, and he its all with his pride and ego. this mans too full of himself.

Nate's handled this situation well, but you can clearly tell he wants to be apart of this team.

If Nate wasn't a fan favorite everyone wouldn't be feeling bad for him.

What about Darko? Why hasn't he been playing at all, how come no one cries for Darko?

I love Nate, he's exciting, does great things with his size, and seems to want to be in NY, and I'm disappointed it's not working out. Butthat's the way it works sometimes. How can we be so certain Nate's done everything possible? Yeah he's done well not to complain, and he showsenthusiasm and support even from the bench, that you can't ignore. But we still don't know what's going on behind the scenes, all we can see iswhat's on the court.

I really don't think that D'Antoni is looking to sabotage Nate's career on purpose, but clearly Nate's doing something wrong. D'Antoni andWalsh need to talk and if Mike has no intentions of playing him in the foreseeable future, then package Jefferies with him and send him somewhere else. Natewill find his place on another team, he'll be fine.

I mean, Mike is the guy who partially was hired because of how well liked he is by players throughout the league....

doesn't that say anything?

What about Darko? Why hasn't he been playing at all, how come no one cries for Darko?
I'd be more pissed about him rotting on the bench not getting any minutes when he's a big man who can run the floor pretty well, reboundand plays decent straight up and help defense.

But hey, let's just focus on Nate not playing.

all this team does is jack three's and i don't think d'antoni has a problem with that. We need people who can create off the dribble and go to thehole and nate is the best knick at doing that. Idk what he has against Nate but this is similar to what he did to Marbury which I also felt was wrong. I alsohate the fact that he keeps giving bs answers to questions about why he is sitting Nate rather than manning up and giving us the real reason. His style ofcoaching is not suited for a struggling rebuilding team.

That's one of the more disappointing things to me, I for some reason had hopes he'd become an effective part of this team.

And what if the real reason is nate is at fault? He'd just be lying then, right?

He admitted in Chicago the other night that they were chucking and took too many. should he have put his foot down? sure, but part of his coaching style isgiving freedom and putting trust into players, they are accountable as well.

We're 6-3 in our last 9.

All 3 losses came on the road.

everyone realizes this right? We're playing better and actually showing some signs defensively where D'Antoni HAS adjusted, that's what everyoneseemingly wanted more than anything..

Could Nate help this team even more? Who knows. He doesn't feel so. I'll trust him on it and see what happens.

i hear ya we have been playing better which is most important but i feel like Nate could help us improve even more. If Nate really is at fault than fine hegets what he deserves, I just want D'antoni to give an honest answer as to why he is benching him.

This dude D'amn-phony has the nerve to say that he would never jeopardize someone's career by not playing them in a contract year (this was in responseto not playing Nate) when he did the SAME EXACT THING TO STEPH.

I too, wanted to see Darko get busy this year. I mean, I understand that Darko may not be a beast or whatever. But I firmly believe that the guy has SOMEtalent in him. And I think dude was capable of providing more than just a warm spot on the bench ("slide over a little bit Darko"). But guess what,D'amn-phony is doing the SAME EXACT THING that he claims he is sooooo against. (Sabotaging a man's career in his contract year).

I hate Mike. Always have. His philosophy sucks (run up and down, shoot 3s, and play no D). And the only reason he is a "player's coach" is b/cthat's all that most players want to do: run up and down and not play any defense.

I don't think D'Antoni is free from blame either. The blame for the Knicks woes has to be spread to everyone.

His coaching style is not my ideal system, but he'll be here for the next few years, so I'm going to just have to get used to him being in NY and putmy trust in him and Donnie.

he may good an good person to chill and have fun with, but thats only if you're on his good side.

if you're on his bad side, lets face it, you have no chance on his team.

shuges, you realize the guy had his contract year? he had nowhere to go.

sabotagaing Darko now? You know he just said he's going to Europe next year anyway, right? He's killing himself.

But allen, do you really think if Darko was getting burn and producing effectively, that he would still be spouting that "back to Europe" garbage?

And yeah, Nate had his contract year already. But shoot, if Mike had THAT short of a fuse with him, he should've told Donnie not to re-sign him.

And if that's the case, then Mike needs to be the GM.

oh. lee had his contract year. why is he playing again?

remember the start of the season? hughes was also in the doghouse. isnt he in his contract year too?

i can even bet, that if we didnt have to move jefferies and currys contract, neither of them would be getting any burn too, although that is understandable

well, my thing with this would be why did it take to game 90 something of their tenure for it to finally explode? If he really had it out for himand couldn't stand him, why not let him walk or why did it take this long for the benching? IMO, we simply do not know. Again, I side with the coach.that's just me. i go with coaches until they prove incapable or severely flawed in their approaches. i have not seen that yet from Mike.

Why has this occurred with Nate and not Will Chandler? Why is Jordan Hill stuck on the bench while the other rookie is getting minutes? dunno. But My trustgoes with the staff. That's generally the approach I take with all my teams, particularly when I feel an intelligent person is in charge which I believemike is, until they prove otherwise (ie Isiah)

as far as Darko, Eddy is twice as talented and couldn't get off the bench the last game. the rotation is tight and He's going with what he feels cannet the most wins right now. if it keeps at this pace, great...we fall apart he has to adjust.

And even with little to no interest from other teams, Nate clearly wanted to stay in NY.
when you have no offers on the table, of course you want to stay.

Shuges makes a good point. Nate did have his contract year last year, and was a major part of the team. And even with little to no interest from other teams,Nate clearly wanted to stay in NY. How could the two be on such different paths so quickly?

______

blah blah we don't know what goes on behind close doors response.

To be honest, Mike hasn't proven anything to me as far as being a good coach. He had a team that was perfectly engineered to his style of offense and_efense in Phoenix. When you switch teams, especially to a team x amount of degrees less talented than the last, shouldn't you adjust to suit theirstrengths (if any)?

edit: nah, I see what you mean
laugh.gif
, but you can tell Nate loves it here.

If i remember correctly, nate got an offer from that europe team, olympicakosasadgadsfs. (sp

The offense has been tweaked to run at a slower pace.

He has adjusted defensively and has gone with extended zone looks, he's utilizing Jared as a defender and it has resulted in the longest stretch the knickshave gone without giving up 100 in almost 3 years.

that _efense in Phoenix actually was in between 13-17th in the league for 4 years. Not great, but certainly not that bad.

Hes far from perfect but ill take him over a lot of coaches.
