If you're the damn coach, push these guys to play harder. I know this isnt first grade basketball, but you dont have to be amazingly skilled to ball. Help them with the fundamentals, box out, hustle, drive in instead of taking jumpshots.



Ive never been a fan of his short rotations, and this is why.

Like really? How the hell do you get blown out like this on multiple occasions in the same *#*$%!* season? I don't know if the Nets have even seen Ls like this. Gallo may have hit a wall because he almost never sees the ball at the right time.

Not putting everything on D'antoni, I'll pass judgment when we have a real team, but he has done some head scratching stuff this season. Reminds me of that Larry Brown season.

Yes, D'Antoni is partly to blame. I'm kind of tired of people here trying to avoid the subject or grant him immunity from any criticism.

This team has had capable players this year yet we only have 20 wins.
Is our personnel really that worse off than last year? I don't think so. So why are we in the same boat?
There has been practically NO development of the younger players. At least none that we've been able to see. That was something that was talked a lot about early on yet have actually seen very little of as time has gone by.
Whatever defensive strategies D'Antoni hyped up prior to the start of the season pretty much resulted in small, unsubstantial gains.
The only consistent thing I've noticed is the experimentation and shuffling of players in and out of the small rotation. IMO this has resulted in the erratic playing and lack of chemistry we've been witness to.

To me it just seems that whatever message that has been or is being preached to the players isn't really getting through to them. Not when they come out lifeless and play without effort. Sure it's ultimately up to the players to do what they get paid for, but to me that's also the result of an ineffective coach.

nobody is 'avoiding' the subject, it's just there's no point in it until we see what is here next year.

- I've seen more aggression and want-to outa Bill Walker in a week than I have from gallo in 2 months. That's not a development issue, that's a you're soft and stand in the corner waiting for things to happen. Will Chandler has come along just fine IMO. He realized it was time to get after it.

- D'Antoni is not going to become a defensive wizard, we all know this. But when dealing with a team this small, it's a detractor.

- Shuffling of players is a result of expiring contracts and continuous roster overhaul. Only complaint here I can see is lack of time for Toney Douglas, and while he was here, Jordan Hill. For the majority of the year we saw the same starting 5.

Do you REALLY expect guys like Al Harrington in their last year of their contract go play hard for this organization? It's just not gona happen. There was a better chance of it last year, and we saw that. Now they've just come to terms with reality.


Has D'Antoni done a good job this year? Not particularly.

Is it ready to say he was a mistake or this mess is a result of him? I dont think so
